The judgement should be based on the price. This filter does exactly what it is supposed to do. It is not 100% perfect and professional, but it can be very useful. I would recommend it, if you are on a budget, and it is your first filter.

The first impression was positive, the packaging and plastic case protected the filter when transported to me.
The plastic case makes a stable impression and has a simple yet stable closure, so that you can store it loosely in the camera backpack.
The setup help is marked (non-linear) and has two end stops. The first attempts with the ND filter were quite okay, in better weather I try the next river or in the city and I will submit the results if necessary.

I'm relatively new to the whole camera photography thing but this was one of my first purchases after the camera itself. I always wondered how those waterfall pics with the cloudy water were created but now I know and can do it myself with this filter. I can't wait to try this with sunsets over the ocean. Great product.

No accidental X-Pattern can be set as the stop grabs before. Perfect for 1/50sec at aperture 4 in bright sun. Colors become slightly fainter at maximum value. But it's whining at a high level. Correction is easily possible in post-production.
Filter is naturally a bit thick. Therefore, some objectivity may experience black corners if the lens is so tightly sized that only a single filter can be used. Since the ND filter contains 2 polarization filters, some objectives (even expensive ones, such as SEL 70-105) have a “remote pipe effect”. But this has less to do with the filter than with the lens

Good area to film outside in the bright (keyword: 180° rule), even in snow or in midsummer (here ND1-8 would be clearly too little)
Hardly any vignetting on the edge
Fixed stop at 8 and 128, in between points for better/more repeatable adjustment
So far, the filter makes a scratch-resistant impression

Did my first shoot using the K&B nd filter and what a differeence. The colors are more vivid. This variable filter works so well I;m just speechless. No X pattern as advertised. Super pleased with my choice.

I can highly recommend this article. The delivery was really fast. The first view was nice, because it looks quite strong and it feels that I will not break so fast. Which is good because I take most of my picture while I am hiking.
This filter is really good also for filming and long exposures, so I don't have to change filters. I can use this one for many different situations. The prize is also really good and in the postproduction I saw no problem while I was editing in lightroom.
So if you want to have a good filter which is not to expensive then this is a good is good choice!

Use this on my Sony A7 III and I'm thrilled. Darks really great without discoloration etc.

The ND filter itself is extremely high quality. Even the packaging is amazing. I love the case ,the ND filter works excellently with almost no artifacts introduced to your photos. I've got to say, hands down the best ND filter I have ever used. FINALLY!!!!Something that works for us, instead of the other way around. It’s an VND that I can trust and use over and over again and still grade my slog3 footage with no issues. Amazing at reducing exposure while wide open during the day to make filming easier and look better. Helps expose your shot without sacrificing your aperture or shutter speed.
