This little device is more than a toy. With a steady hand, it can be used to examine very small things, and document their condition. For example, the condition of coins, the finish on metal parts, the surface of leaves, the integrity of a solder joint. While magnification is controlled via a menu (see pictures, taken at 2M resolution with 100x magnification), focus is controlled manually on the side of the instrument. It will take a steady hand to take good pictures at high magnifications, which is likely why the clear "ring" is provided, to be able to steady the device against the item or the ground. Images are kept on a removable SD memory card - a 32gb card is provided. I did not try the video feature yet, but would imagine that would be interesting with a wormy apple. The manual provided with this is quite useful and readable.

Originally, I got this for our young child, but while they grow into I will be using this as an inexpensive inspection scope on the go. If you mount this on a ring stand or something of the sort, then you have a low cost yet relatively powerful inspection scope for fine work - electronics repair or inspection, etc. On top of that, this is a fun learning tool on the go. I can only dream of all the things I would have used this for as a child or teen. Great quality in a small package!

I thought this would be a great educational tool for my granddaughter. This includes slides to get you going and spark your interest. This microscope is rechargeable and the display screen is crisp and clear. You can zoom in focus and take pics using the sd card and review on device or computer later. Great tool for learning and exploring and after Im done "testing" this out, my granddaughter will be able to enjoy this as much as I do, learning aspect along with the quality makes this well worth its value and easy to recommend.

I ordered this without consulting my daughter. I just just opened it and handed it to her. She was immediately excited. At 9 years old, it can be hard sometimes to find gifts that she will like. This one was a home run instantly. Even after using it for several days, she still loves it. She also tossed aside the instructions and just figured out how to use it. It's very intuitive. She missed a couple of options in the settings but I found them and turned them on. One of them is for recording videos. It is defaulted to no audio. Also, no date timestamp. I turned both of those on. It's also defaulted to the lower resolution choices and I increased those. Her curiosity about the world is being opened up because of the possibility of investigation. And while storing the photos isn't the greatest quality while you're looking at a thing, it's quite neat.Here are a couple of points to keep in mind.-There is not an optical viewfinder. The only option is screen which makes sense because this is not an optical microscope. It is a digital microscope.-This is a manual focus microscope. The focus knob is really big and can be used while your hand is in the strap and you also don't accidentally bump it because it's recessed and a little bit out of the way. That's nice. The built-in light has several different brightness levels which go around in a cycle from Dennis to steps up to brightest and then back to Dennis again. I think this is a great little toy microscope and it's going to be fun and useful for just about any kid.

I got this microscope from the Kentfaith store for my five-year-old daughter. It arrived charged and ready to use, and it has a charging cable. One needs to adjust the focus prior to use, otherwise the images are blurry. It is easy to hold, and it also has a strap to be placed over the wrist when using it. My daughter loves taking pictures with it. It also has video and microscope functions. Overall, I am pleased with this microscope and I would recommend it to a friend!

It has many features that my grandson loves. The viewing screen is a big plus especially for a kid. It flips out and is a 2 x 2 " screen making it very easy to see the objects being viewed. The magnification to 1000 is also another plus. In addition, it is possible to take a photo or a video that is saved on an INCLUDED mini SD card. There are settings to change the background color as well as to adjust how much light you are using to view the objects. It is rechargeable with an internal battery. It comes with a cable but you need to provide the 5v 1a charger. As adults, we are enjoying it as well.

It was a Christmas present for a 5 yo. He was able to use it immediately. He loved the display. He ran all over looking at all kinds of things. Everyone enjoyed it!

This is a neat toy. Very realistic, and it does magnify. Screen is easy to use, and I'm sure my 8 year old will figure this out. Nice learning toy. Comes with charging cord.

This microscope works even better than I expected! The kids have loved being able to walk around with it and look at various items.

bought this for my grandaughters. they love it and spend much time outside in the back yard looking for things to examine. great for the inquisitive child
