67mm MCUV Lens Protection Filter with Filter Cap Ultra-Slim 24-Layer Coatings Waterproof for Camera Lens Nano-Dazzle Series
SKU: KF01.1777V1
Purchased for my daughter who is a photographer. This is her favorite brand of filters so she loved getting a filter as a gift. She says these are the best filters on the market and will not use any other brand.

have been a fan of K&F Filters and many of their other photography products for some time and have come to appreciate the brand's durability and quality. Most of my lenses live their life with a K&F Concept UV protection filter on the front. I have sufficiently tested the transmittance and sharpness of K&F UV filters in the past, so I now consider them a trusted brand. I am confident in their quality. And that's the point, right? In my opinion, they are a trustworthy seller. I needed a protection filter for a 24mm-70mm zoom lens I recently purchased. The ultra-thin frame of the MCUV filter is what caught my eye and the reason I ordered it. And for that reason, it worked well. When the lens is set to the widest focal length, 24mm, the Ultra Slim Filter does not affect the image area. Therefore, it does not cause vignetting. UV filters are effective when shooting on film, although some emulsions are/have been formulated to be insensitive to UV light. However, they offer little to no additional benefit when capturing with a digital sensor. Modern digital sensors record the entire spectrum of visible light unfiltered, as well as portions of the invisible infrared and ultraviolet light spectra. To record only visible light, so photos look like how we see the world, digital camera manufacturers install what is called an IR-cut hot mirror filter over the digital sensor and Bayer array. Digital cameras sold without this filter are called a "full spectrum camera." If you're not sure if your camera is full spectrum, it isn't. That means you don't need to filter out UV light, the manufacturer has already done that for you. In my digital imaging, I use UV filters to protect the front element of expensive lenses. And in this regard, the K&F Concept MCUV filter offers protection for expensive lenses without affecting camera settings or image quality, thus providing cost-effective insurance. If it happens to offer an additional UV filter, that's a bonus. The physical properties of the filter are, without exaggeration, its almost feather-light weight as well as the faceted chinas around the perimeter that provide a good grip. I use a 67mm — 62mm graduation ring for the filter. The thread on the front of the filter provides sufficient depth for the secure attachment of the ring and thus the associated stacked filter. The K&F front lens cap that comes with the filter is equal in quality to, if not improved upon, the OEM lens cap that came with the lens. The clamp levers are easy to use, firmly spring loaded and ensure a firm hold of the filter or lens. As I mentioned at the beginning, I have come to rely on the quality of K&F filters for the reasons the seller claims, but most importantly for me, the high quality of their multi-coated AGC anti-reflective glass. AGC, a Japanese company, is the largest glass manufacturer in the world. Another reason why I have confidence in K&F filters. The filter comes with a lens cap, a lens cap lanyard, a high-quality microfiber lens cleaning cloth and a plastic storage case. K&F Concept offers good value for money and doesn't cut corners.

Not much to say here other than this filter is a winner for the asking price. The filter itself is lightweight and has a deep knurl between 2-4... and 8-10 (depending on the clock setting). It comes with a hard case for storage, a cleaning cloth, a lens cap and a strap for the lens cap. Everything you need to get started, it's a complete set. If you need a UV filter, you can't go wrong here. Recommended.

just bought this filter as insurance for the front element of my 70-200 f/2.8 VR lens. I've bought a few of these now in various sizes, and as long as you're careful not to over-tighten them (they're SUPER THIN and don't hold on easily), they seem to work just as well as the much thicker and more expensive multi-layered B&W filters. K&F usually has good quality, and these filters are no exception. If you get vignetting with this filter, you'll get it with ANY filter. I've never seen anything thinner. I also like that you get a neat little storage case, and the lens cap is just as good as the OEM lens caps I have. I'm not sure what you'd need the little lanyard for (at least as far as filters go), but the included microfiber cloth is also appreciated. In the balance between protection and utility, this filter definitely leans toward utility. It protects my front element from dirt, dust and smudges, but maybe not from strong mechanical shocks. On the other hand, it is lightweight and will never make your image corners look dark. If you are really rough with your equipment, you may need a thicker filter to protect the front of your lens. However, if you value good optical quality and minimal weight, this filter should be at the top of your list.

Barely received, already tried. This filter fits perfectly with my Nikon lenses (16-85 and 70-300). No image defects and good front lens protection.

I've become a huge fan of K&F Concept. It's hard not to consider the cost of this line of filters. This is the first filter from this line I've gotten, all the others have been either the Nano or top-line series. The filter is almost disappointingly light, especially in the 52mm size I got. It has very deep grooves that really make it easier to grip — and they don't add to the overall diameter, so if you have a slide-on cap or hood, they won't get in the way. It's also very thin, which is a good thing — but is also my only complaint about the filter — the internal thread (on the front of the filter) is too shallow to accommodate the OEM lens hood designed for the Nokton lens I use it with. It kind of holds it, but it does wobble and play a bit, so I'm baffled by that. I tested it with the ~10 year old German "pro" level MRC filter that's been on the lens since I got it, and it's visibly a better filter in terms of overall contrast. (K&F's elevation filters are even better in this regard.) And for that cheap price, you get a lens cap and sealed cleaning cloth. The lens cap I bought separately was also the first K&F product I used that I thought had a flawed design, and this smaller one is too — the recesses for your fingertips do have plenty of depth on the cap, but the surfaces you squeeze to use the cap are completely smooth, and I have trouble using it. I was able to fix that by gluing a very small (~0.02 x 0.06) strip of plastic along the side edges of the pinch points, which makes these work really well. So — even at 4 stars (a high rating from me), there are things I don't like about this filter kit. But I don't think the shallow threads will be an issue for most people, and getting a really good filter for so little is worth a star to me.

EVERY LENS SHOULD HAVE A UV FILTER FOR IMPACT PROTECTION. NOT THE BEST QUALITY BUT IT WORKS FOR A LENS I WILL ONLY USE 10-15 TIMES A YEAR. CANON R3
