K&F makes fixed filters and this UV filter is no different. My 24-70 has been naked for a while and I decided it was time to get it a protective UV filter as I've added it back to my rotation of travel lenses so I ordered a matching 77mm Filter. The K&F filter surprised me when I first unpacked it. First, the case is fantastic. It's a smoky transparent hardshell plastic case secured with 4 tabs and a quick twist to lock and unlock. It's a large filter housing as the same housing fits 82mm filters but can also fit smaller filters down to 43mm. And the filters don't slip around. But how? Inside the case are two conical sections made of silicone, a small one with 2 ribs and a large one with 10. The large one has numbers next to each rib indicating the size it fits (43, 46, 49, 52, 55, 58, 62, 67, 72, 77, 82 ). The small one with 2 ribs is meant to hold the opposite end of the filter and stabilize it. As long as your filter is one of the sizes listed, it should fit this housing and be held securely in place by the silicone ridges. Now it holds my single layer filters with no problem, but it doesn't fit my variable ND filters or filters with rotating handles/extensions that protrude. The filter itself is very well made. The aluminum housing has built in two sections with thick knurling, making the filter easy to grab during installation and removal. The filter itself does not noticeably affect my image quality on my 24-70 compared to no filter when viewing an image up to 2x in Lightroom, nor do I notice any significant color cast. For me, the K&F UV filter is well designed and easy to use.

This is a great protection filter for an expensive lens. I recently ordered a set of diffusion filters from K&F Concept for one of my lenses and was very happy with the quality of the glass and the workmanship. I didn't hesitate to order this UV filter when it became available. I ordered the 55mm version for a standard Nikkor lens that was part of a DSLR kit. Years ago I used UV filters on my film camera lenses, but I'm just beginning to learn how to use digital cameras. I imagine this might help with some outdoor shots, but I was primarily interested in just protecting my lens. This filter is thin, light weight and very easy to attach to my lens. The optical quality of the AGC glass made in Japan is very high. My images are sharp and I can't see any aberrations in the glass. I appreciate that this filter is shock resistant, water resistant, and especially scratch resistant, as it's surprisingly easy to damage a lens or get it wet or dirty (and they're not that easy to clean). It's nice to keep dust off my lens and not have to worry so much about something happening to it so all I can think about is shooting. I have several other lenses of different sizes that also need protection filters and I will certainly look for this brand. I also like the sturdy storage box that this lens came in. Made from high quality materials. Precision built. It offered the least amount of resistance I've had when screwing on a new filter. It's very thin so it doesn't interfere with wide-angle lenses (as much as possible).

Using a full-frame DSLR, I made side-by-side pixel-level comparisons between shots with and without a filter. One photo was a wide angle shot of the included sky on a high UV day.

Results: Well, I didn't see any difference in color or richness in the high-UV shot, so I wouldn't buy it just for that. Most of the time, people just buy these as lens protectors (and believe me, they've saved my bacon a number of times on high-end lenses now!). As a lens protector, you want it to be as unobtrusive as possible, and I'm happy to report that I can't tell a significant difference in any test shot - color balance, sharpness, contrast - they're all so close I've never been could definitely say that every tiny difference was due to the filter.

The filters are high quality and well packaged. Absolute purchase recommendation.

This helped with UV protection during the day and also helped prevent scratches on my camera lens. It's very thin and you hardly notice it's on. I can also put my lens cover on it so it doesn't get damaged. Worth the investment

If you are looking for quality protection for your lens, at this price point, K&F Concepts is hard to beat. The quality of the materials, fit and finish. And the overall clarity and protection of this product provides a fantastic way to keep a variety of things from getting to and damaging your more expensive lens.

It is a great comfort to me to have a guard that does its job so well that I don't even know it's there until it's successfully protected me.

Overall this product is very well made, it fits my lens perfectly and does a fantastic job at what it is supposed to do. If you need UV or more importantly damage protection then this is a great choice which I would highly recommend at this price point.

Although it weighs tremendously like a spring treated even better than the other cheaper filters from the same brand, it's very thin and knurled for easy unscrewing and unscrewing. very satisfied

While a clear filter might not be the most exciting piece of camera gear, it can prove valuable when it comes to protecting your expensive lens investment. This filter is optically clear and does not add a color cast. From my readings I hardly see any loss of light, nor have I encountered any internal reflections. The filter has some recessed grips on the outside that make installation and removal easier. Many of my older filters got stuck and were difficult to remove, but I don't expect that with this one. It's not overly thin, but I didn't detect any vignetting with it on the wide end of my 24-70 Lumix S Pro lens.

If you tend to shoot in harsh environments or places where there may be contact with your front lens element, this is something you should seriously consider. It's affordable protection that's well worth it.

A minimally bulky UV filter of very good quality and a stable storage box - I can only recommend it...
Also not to be despised: A stable, round box for storing filters (including other filters that are not currently in use).
