I love the automatic chicken door so far. It is working well in our new coop. It has saved me time each morning and evening.

Luckily. I didn't have to modify my existing door frame, since my coop is home made
. Took about 45 minutes to install. Instructions were understandable and uncomplicated. Easy to set the timers too. I've had the door since mid August, and have not had any problems with the door. It's a dependable product. Matter of fact, I absolutely love not having to go out to the coop first thing every morning, rain or shine, to open the coop when the sun comes up. I get to have a cup of coffee first.

This is super easy to deal with. Simple to program. Door opens and closes at the correct programmed time. One thing to note is that when the door is in the up position, it increases the height of the unit by just over 10 inches. So factor this into your installation! We needed to cut a thin notch above it as our run is covered. The price seems midrange for this unit compared to similar products. That being said, overall I feel these things are perhaps priced a bit on the high side. The convenience factor is what makes these so appealing, and really who wants to maunally operate their chicken coop door in the rain or cold when this item can take care of that. I don't! So with that in mind I will recommend this.

This was ideal for our situation. When we are late in coming home our chickens are safely closed in from predators. We are using the battery option for 2 months. so far no need to change the batteries.

I'm pretty excited about the prospect of not having to get up at 6 am tomorrow morning. I'll still get up to check and make sure it opens, but in two days I won't still be checking. The only thing that I am concerned about is that many other automatic coop doors had sensors that would prevent the chicks and chickens from being hurt if the door comes down on them. This one did not AND I did not notice that that safety feature was missing on this style. I love the versatility, but I'm worried that one of my little guys might get crushed in the doorway. I put my hand in the door as it was going down to check that it would stop or reverse to not hurt the chicken, but it just pushed my hand to the bottom and I don't know how much it would have damaged my hand if I hadn't moved it. Now what? Just hope the chickens go through the door quickly? Yikes.

I could be wrong about the safety feature but if that’s important to you you may want to ask the company because I combed through the listing and didn’t see anything nor is it on the door or in the instructions.
It is very durable and is weather resistant because you can feel the coating almost. I also don’t see how predators are gonna get through this thing.
Price point is not bad for the quality of the door itself. In the process of building coop so we will see how it does staying on schedule!
