The threads are beautifully smooth and the optics of the filter are of high quality. The effect may seem subtle to most, but it adds a certain edge to portraits and works well for videos too. All lens tissues were a nice added bonus!

A very nice filter to add that dreamy effect. It softens the image and is very helpful in reducing wrinkles in portrait photography. I intend to use this filter for both landscapes and portraits. The filter is solid, the rim is metal and easily screws onto your lens. This filter comes in a hard plastic case and included with the package were three microfiber cloths individually sealed in plastic. I have other K&F filters and have never been disappointed.

I mainly photographed landscapes, architecture and still lifes, but in the last year I have started to take more people and night shots. At 1/2 fog, this lens produces a very mild shine and softness to images without sacrificing detail. I added a touch of sparkle to some people and macro flower images in post-processing, but using a filter to achieve the effect in-camera results in a much more subtle and natural look. The filter itself is extremely well made, attaching smoothly and easily to my lens and removing just as easily. Visually, it's spot on and doesn't produce any distortion or unwanted artifacts. K&F filters are just as good as the significantly more expensive German filters,

This is exactly what I needed. I was expanding my iPhone video rig setup and encountered the problem that all newer iPhones have with excessive image and video sharpening. This filter is very, very mild, but just strong enough to reduce that sharpness. I mounted it on the Moment Universal Filter Mount Adapter, with an ND filter, also from K&F, and use a third-party app to control the shutter speed and white balance, which helps add a bit of motion blur and a more natural depth of field than the cinematic mode in the native camera app. This filter will pretty much live on my iPhone while filming. I love the softening and glowing effect that a black diffusion filter gives to videos and photos. It's a great way to reduce sharpness and add mystique to lighting in high-contrast situations. If you want to add a nostalgic, soft feel to your video or cut out the digital look of your video, this filter is a must-have. I own most versions of the Tiffen Black Pro and I can honestly say that the K&F version replicates this look very well at a much cheaper price. I also use and love this filter for photography. Highlights on skin tend to glow a little more brightly, and any lighting in the frame looks like it's surrounded by a light haze. This filter can give you a different look, without changing anything other than adding the filter to your lens. This is a good budget option for those who might not be willing to pay the much higher cost of the Tiffen version.

The black fog filter is a pretty subtle effect. This filter is my first black fog filter. Basically, it defocuses your images and softens them a bit. I tried a 1/4 filter but I think I would prefer the 1/2 filter for a bigger effect. It's pretty easy to soften images a bit in your favorite image editor. I think the 1/2 would make for a more natural attenuation than smoother editing in editor software. The filter itself is well built and the ring is nice and slim. The package came with three sealed microfiber towels which is a very handy addition. These filters are inexpensive enough to buy multiple intensities to try. Next I'll buy a 1/2!

The filter is well made and feels solid in the hands. I like that it has the textured grip on the edges to make screwing in and out easier. This quarter-thickness black diffusion filter provides just the right amount of highlight diffusion without being overpowering. I want more and it would be obvious that you have a filter activated, but less would go unnoticed. Useful part to have in your kit.
