Handheld underwater metal detector, full waterproof precision locator, adult and child metal detector, suitable for detecting coins, metals,
SKU: GW50.0087
This needs to be pretty close to the metal in order to trigger the detector. This is very portable, because it's small and packs away in a bag, so it would be great for going to the beach. It's a little hard to use on the ground (I had to crouch). You also need to be pretty close to the metal and this would not detect gold when the gold was on top of the plate, but not all metal detectors do.

Works beeps vibrates and blinks when you find something. So far I've found 1 10k gold ring 2 steel rings and 1 silver and diamond ring plus gobs of trash... All at one location.
Great for you and the environment. Enjoy finding treasures. And if you see me out there say hi.

I dont really use the light, but I love the wand. Not only can I hear it underwater but I can really feel the vibration. I used it all summer long and the battery's are still good. Not too small in size, it's just right. I'm going to have to buy another one for my son so he will quit stealing mine.

This product would be fantastic for small children or anyone who is just getting in to metal detecting. Unlike the full stand-up versions, this detector needs to be within 1 foot of metal in order for it to detect anything. I burried several objects of different sizes at different depths to test it out. A penny directly under the surface of the dirt, measuring tape 6" under the dirt, a metal staple gun a foot under the dirt, and a handful of coins 1.5 feet under the dirt. I noticed it never detected the handfuls of coins and only detected the other items if I moved slow enough over them.
I thought maybe the coins were too small so I buried the staple gun 1.5 feet under the dirt and it still did not detect it. Videos that you see of people on the beach sweeping back and forth will not work with this product. You must go very slowly. Otherwise it won't detect anything. The flashlight that comes with it is very bright and works great. I will be taking this out to Riverbank in the spring to try it out underwater. Right now we already have snow on the ground so I'll have to wait a bit.

I've always been fascinated by metal detectors and finding things hidden just below the surface. Vine showed me one, and yes please!
It's light, easy to pop the (included!) battery into, and a single push button to start it. No fancy settings, no learning curve, just battery, power, and go. I headed to the back yard, which is primarily sand thus easy to dig, to see what I could find.
Protip: Do not wear steel toed shoes for this activity, unless you'd like to find your own feet, again and again and again. Shoe change, and away we go.
Move the wand slowly over the ground to let it register. It will vibrate, make noise, and light up when it senses something, more of all three the closer or larger the object is. (For fun, I "found" a vehicle. Sounded like I hit the jackpot.)
My first score appears to be a child's porcelain coated iron toy pot lid that appears to have been buried for a while. It was about a foot down. As I dug, I kept checking the dirt I removed from the hole in case it was a smaller item hidden in a clump. Getting closer to my prize, it lit up all three lights and buzzed faster.
The next two finds are well-used, rusted out nails. They were closer to the surface, and the detector lit up easily to locate them. If I continue at this rate, I'll slowly build up enough scrap metal to upgrade my metal detector.
The kit includes a waterproof flashlight, which takes 3 AAA batteries, not included. It's a simple turn on and off at the base, and decently bright. There's also a storage bag for everything - the velvetish bag seems a poor choice for something used in water as it may not dry as well as a mesh bag would. There's a lanyard for the metal detector as well, but I did not use it.

Now... I really don't have a use for this for underwater use, but it works great on land! I had, what i thought was going to be a useful metal detector that just went off whenever it was on. This is much smaller than the 50 inch metal detectors and works just as good. It helped me to find the property markers and even pickup up direct burial cables. Awesome!!
