55mm 1/8 Black Mist filter, high definition, waterproof anti-reflection green film, Nano-Dazzle Series
SKU: KF01.2200
Of course, anyone who knows and uses the Black Mist effect appreciates it.
The coating makes a high-quality impression and, as it should, does not negatively affect the image quality. The processing is also convincing, the thread seems stable and well made, with a lens with an 82 mm thread (Sigma 85 1.4) the filter holds perfectly.
The 1/4 variant has the best combination of the everyday effect that still looks natural and not too strong.

It is a great filter for its price that highlights its use in night situations with very contrasting and strong lights and thanks to the filter it can produce good fog.
If you're using it for daytime portraits and texture softening it will probably fall short (I haven't used it for that purpose yet), but for the examples I've described and added photos to, it is a filter that you must have in your repertoire because it offers a lot of latitude.
For the price it's worth it, it's worth the wait to try other more expensive ones, but you need to know what you're looking for before you buy anything.

The filter is easy to apply and creates a dreamy, slightly diffused look, especially with lights. I've recently started taking photos in a more cinematic style and this filter really adds to that style. As you can see in the third image attached, the bokeh of the neon sign is diffuse and has a nice soft glow. This is exactly what I was looking for! I've attached two more photos so you can see the difference (1st without filter, 2nd with).
If you're looking for a very dramatic look, check out K&F Concept's other filters. This one is on the subtle side. I love it and would recommend!

The filter is supplied in a plastic box. The part consists of metal (frame) and glass. The workmanship is very good. The specifications of the filter are written on the frame.
The effect of the filter is rather subtle and looks nice.
The filter also physically protects the lens from damage.
The price of the filter is still ok and recommendable!

Very simple and classic packaging for photographic filters.
If you're reading this review, you probably already know what this filter is for, so I'll let you know about its quality right away.
The filter consists of a very solid aluminum ring and the glass part is also very solid, waterproof and scratch-resistant.
A little tip if you're just getting into the world of filters is to take the size of your larger lens and then buy filter adapters so you can use them with smaller diameter lenses.

I tried the 46mm diameter filter on a Nikon Z30 with a Nikkor 16-50mm lens. The filter fits perfectly into the filter thread of the lens.
When held against the light, the coating of the filter glass becomes visible. A green shimmer can be seen, which indicates an anti-reflective coating. The glass itself was delivered in perfect condition.
I did not notice a reduction in light intensity through the filter. With the same exposure time, aperture and light amplification, I could not see any difference in the brightness of the image.
Well, how does the filter work, or rather, where is the best place to use it?
When photographing or filming direct light, such as light tubes or LED bars, the light is scattered by the filter in such a way that it looks like fog around the light source. The areas around the light source become more diffuse and the light source itself becomes very blurry. For the best effect, as much light source as possible should be visible in the picture. Objects in front of the light source are only slightly distorted by the filter.
The first test shots convinced me of this filter and I am totally enthusiastic. It's definitely an asset to my recordings.

Diffuser filters are used to blur light, for example, or to soften it.
The filter does that very well.
In terms of optical quality, I have not noticed any major difference to Neewer filters.
Of course there is room for improvement, but the professional filters are then quickly beyond 200 euros.
I used it on a Tamron 90mm f2.8 and a Nikon D500.
A bit notchy when unscrewing (Neewer can do that better now) but otherwise no reason to complain.
You have to experiment a little with the incidence of light. When the light source is directly in front of you, the effect can be quite extreme, as the soft glow "overshines" much of the immediate area.
With light coming in from the side / indirect light, you get a nice "glow". This can also be used in product photography, for example, to soften highlights a little (eg in cars to soften highlights).
And the filter does that very well.
The price is absolutely fine. If you want to use this effect permanently (Hollywood glow....) you should invest more. For the hobby / amateur photographer, absolutely sufficient (portraits also get that special "something" - try it out)

The supplied diffuser filter arrives well packed in a small box undamaged. The processing is clean and it is used to soften the light a bit.
I have to say, compared to expensive branded products, the filter does a good job and seems like a really cheap alternative.
Screwing in was easy and the filter holds without wobbling. As with most filters, you have to experiment a little in which circumstances it should be used, depending on the light it can be that the image is otherwise oversaturated.
But once you get the hang of it, you get a very nice effect, such as a warmer, atmospheric atmosphere or softer skin in portraits.
I am satisfied with the filter and would recommend it. It does its job and is a cheap alternative for every hobby photographer.
