In my opinion this is a very nice black fog camera filter for my DSLR. It is made of high-quality optical glass with multiple layers of ultra-thin nanometer coatings and ultra-lightweight materials. The frame is very light and thin compared to some other filters I have. This filter is a 1/4 diffusion/fog filter and the changes from a regular, unfiltered lens are minimal. The same filter is available in smaller and larger strengths. But I figured 1/4 would be a good place to start experimenting and for general use. The price of this filter is very good considering you are getting a high quality multi-coated glass filter. From my various experimental shots, I believe this filter has a lot of potential for portraits and still lifes. I'd like to try it on more macro shots as well. I would definitely recommend this camera filter to anyone who is still shooting with a DSLR rather than their phone. ;-)

I've gotten more into photography lately and enjoy the way filters help create these artistic possibilities. These diffusion filters help create a subtle but effective difference during the day and a stark difference in night shots. K&F is a solid company I have a few other filters from and they are all great quality! This 1/4 filter softens the highlights quite a bit, allowing for very dreamy photos that would otherwise have harsh digital flares. I have recommended that in addition to an ND filter, people should add a diffusing filter or two to their collection. This brand seems like a great company that offers multiple, trustworthy filters at a great price.

Fiters are very thin and beautifully built. Mounted on my favorite NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR lens. Creamy and dreamy picture, but not too much. Once I've bought a step down ring I'll try my anamorphic lenses for video. How exciting. Loves effects and you don't have to spend more than $400 for one of those Velvet lenses (of which I have a few). Love it!

If you want to see what shooting with this filter looks like and you wear glasses, just get your glasses really dirty with drywall dust. Everything becomes softer and less detailed. If that's the look you're after, this filter has it in abundance. It's a well-made filter and doesn't cause any optical problems (apart from the intentional blurring). No color shifts or additional scattering. I didn't notice any noticeable vignetting on the 82mm version either. The knurling is also well done. I am impressed with the quality of this filter and will be looking at other K&F filters in the future.

This ¼ Black Diffusion Filter from K&F is a very high quality optical filter that gives your photos a subtle but noticeable softening and renders skin tones with a beautiful softness that doesn't look artificial. Highlights have a soft glow/bloom and the overall contrast is slightly reduced. Unfortunately, there is no industry standard for exactly how much diffusion a ⅛, ¼, ½ filter should add to the image, so each manufacturer is free to choose how much diffusion to add to each filter in their line. I like how much diffusion K&F put into this filter, unlike other manufacturers whose ¼ diffusion filters use too much diffusion. Another quality indicator are the plastic boxes that K&F encloses with its filters. They are superior to boxes from other companies and are pleasant to use. I have two different types of boxes from K&F and they are both excellent.

A long time ago I bought a Super VHS camcorder and the first thing I recorded was my parents. I plugged it into the TV and played it. My mother said, "That's not good." I asked why. Her response was, "The picture is too clear. Who wants to see themselves that clearly?” Looking back about 40 years, I own a full-frame Nikon DSLR. Take a picture of someone from across the room and you can see every pore. It really isn't necessary. Enter the Diffusion Lens. This is beautifully built. The glass is almost invisible and the ring is sturdy and has ridges for easy gripping. And the storage case is nice too. Because it's a 1.4 diffusion filter, the effect is subtle. But it's there and it works. Great filter at a good price.

own around a dozen different filters developed by K&F and am a big fan of the UV filters in particular. If you know, you know. I only recently found out they offer FX filters so I was very excited to try this out. Friends: This filter works. Period. Not only does this add a nice halo effect to the faces of your subjects, it also ensures that textures are softened evenly throughout the image. Why is this a big deal? Because with the start of graduate portrait season, this filter makes it easier to touch up acne and scars. Instead of endlessly tweaking the masking and corrections and getting blotchy results, this filter cuts the work in half while keeping your edits consistent with the rest of the unedited image. This simple filter is a game changer!

first used it a few days ago on a corporate interview style photoshoot with an elderly person who was concerned about her appearance on camera. I have nice lenses that are VERY sharp and tend to capture and bring out every little detail. The 1/4 power was perfect for showing off a little flattering softness without losing sharpness or contrast or looking overly "bright". I won't use this for every shoot, but for adding some character or softness to portraits, specific interviews, wedding shoots, etc. it's just the ticket. Quality is top notch. Screws on and off my lens with ease and comes well padded in a suitably sized case. I have a full set of popular Black Pro Mist filters and these are just as good. Would recommend these without hesitation!

This filter creates a very subtle cinematic look and blurs still images and moving videos at the same time. A difference can be seen in the shooting of individuals, albeit not a significant one. It makes the skin a little more supple and silky and the backgrounds are not like that anymorerazor sharp as before, especially on my Sony A7IV. I bought the 82mm size with step down rings to use with all my lenses. Overall, it's a good idea to have this filter in your camera bag, but it comes in handy when you're taking portrait photos or want to add a softer touch to your videos.

In every respect, this K&F Black Diffusion 1/4 filter is a wonderful filter. Well made, well finished, clear and perfect glass, thin and light etc etc. You get a very good filter for your money. The question is really how good is the diffusion effect, especially in the center of the image where a face is likely to be placed. My testing on some freshly budded red buds found the edge to edge diffusion quality to be subtle and excellent. The included photo is 100% cropped to capture the quality in the center of the frame. I hope the reproduction on Amazon is good enough to convince you of the quality as well. This is a good product and easy to recommend.
A subtle effect
