The package containing the K&F Concept Nano X-Series Variable ND Filter ND3-ND1000 Gray Filter 67mm (1.5-10 stops) was delivered quickly and safely packed.
I love taking pictures and was happy to be able to test this filter.
The black outer box with the filter was once again covered with a plastic film, so that also no moisture could penetrate. The filter itself is in a high-quality plastic case. The flap of the case is magnetic. So no unnecessary fumbling around to get to the filter. Very practical: The filter can be easily lifted out by a strap.

The filter itself is made of Japanese optical glass with 28-layer nano-coating on both sides, which should prevent some lens reflection and of course glare from div. light sources. According to the manufacturer, the ND filter is waterproof, oilproof and dustproof, which is good for the requirements especially in nature and hiking. I have the feeling that the filter is very robust. But also has quite a weight with lens size 67 mm. Of course, the price is also accordingly appropriate.
The frame of the filter is made of aircraft aluminum, has an ultra-wide angle construction and is just 7.4 mm thick. Those who, like me, have always used a few different dark gray filters will appreciate this fact, especially when hiking. You simply need less space in your backpack and the weight is also kept within limits. One case, one filter.
I use gray filters especially when taking pictures of water at the lake or of flowing water or waterfalls. Also, for long exposure shots of places you'd like to photograph without people, a piece like this is fantastic.
The function of this adjustable filter is quite simple. Just press the handy slider and the filter will darken or lighten as needed. So you can easily try different settings and effects without having to constantly change filters.
Conclusion: the price is in the normal range with this kind of aperture level adjustability. Sure there are cheaper ones, but the K&F filter is already built a bit higher quality. The results are quite respectable. Since I'm not a professional, but just enjoy taking photos, this filter is actually a great companion for me and I'm happy to recommend it.
See photos, which I will post a little later due to the (somewhat stressful) Christmas season ;-))

I was pretty late to jump on the ND filter trend because I'm an old photographer and still shoot film 90% of the time. In film, we learned how to make camera adjustments to achieve the same thing you would with these filters. Well, almost the same... I am shocked at how much easier it is to work with this variable ND filter in hard light and shoot long exposures!

One question I had was, "Does this work with film or pretty much just for digital?" and I'm happy to say that it does work for film, but I think its greatest strength is in digital photography.
This filter is one of the highest quality filters I've ever seen. It turns silky smooth, but has enough friction that it stays exactly where you set it and doesn't slip when you make another adjustment. I couldn't believe my eyes, but it also works as a mild polarizing filter. I was able to shoot in very bright and harsh sunlight and have an exposure of almost 2 minutes with the darkest setting, so I could see right through the reflection of the water. I have never been able to do that before!

I also love the little orange nub they call the "putter" on this filter. It just makes adjusting so much easier. I'm totally sold on using ND filters now, and since this one is variably adjustable, it's the only one I'll ever need! very happy with it!

My gear: Canon 90D 18-135mm 3.5/5.6 USM lens.

I really love this cover. I've never had an ND filter before, but the features of this filter totally blew me away. As you can see from the photos I uploaded, they work wonders in filtering out the harsh light of daytime shots, and I can capture a pretty awesome sunrise with it too! I haven't used them for motion photos yet, as I usually do landscape photography, but they do help with images during the day to prevent your images from having overexposed areas. The included case is also top notch, is made of nice leather and is easy to take out of the box when you want to use it. I didn't notice any white balance issues, but I take all my photos in RAW so I don't usually pay much attention to my white balance (I fix that in the editing process). The lens itself is also of excellent quality. It is very easy to adjust and fits my lens well. I can't say enough about this filter. If you are looking for something to take your photography to the next level, this is an excellent starting point!
No ND to look for another filter! No ND to look for another filter! No ND to look for another filter!

I'm new to this brand of lens filters, but I'm happy with the image quality and fit on my lens. It is easy to adjust and stays at your chosen setting while shooting. I was able to take some great waterfall pictures and a sunset picture with this filter, and you can't tell the difference between this and my expensive brand ND lens filter when you review the pictures.

Since I started testing K&F filters, I have become a big fan of the company. The quality of the filters and construction are excellent. The glass was of exceptional optical clarity and the brass rings are precision machined. I have never had any problems with cross threading or pulling off. The filters go on very smoothly and come off just as smoothly.

They are all filters that have just enough friction to stay where you put them, but they turn buttery smooth on the camera so you don't have to worry about moving your camera around on the tripod. They are just a real joy to use. This Euler filter per check mark has corresponding markings on the edge so you know which stop you're at, and it has a little tab that makes it easy to rotate the filter. It is very unobtrusive and should not interfere with your image, i.e. no vignetting.

In the old days, one problem with variable neutral density filters was that you would see this artifact of the two polarized plates crossing and these optical "X" artifacts in your image. I believe the newer ones used spiral circular polarization so you get an image without artifacts.

This filter does exactly what it is supposed to do, darken your image to allow longer exposures, or just block out extreme light and glare on a very bright day.

One thing that strikes me about this filter is that its metering is extremely accurate. If you say it for four stops and then take it off and lower your camera by stops, the lighting will appear identical, although there will be a little more glare without the filter because the polarization also reduces the glare.

Another optically perfect excellent filter from K&F.

This filter is perfect if you want to shoot in bright daylight with the aperture wide open. Well built and easy to use.

Right from the start, the first thing you will notice is the build quality of this filter. It feels very solid in your hand, there are no loose parts, and it has a good weight. I like that it has small handle extensions that you can hold onto to turn the filter. Since the filter takes some pressure to turn it, it's nice to have these so your fingers don't slip. I like that the ND filter has hard stops so you don't accidentally turn it too far, which can mess up your image very quickly, regardless of which brand filter you use.As for color shifting

As for color shift, it's about par for the course for this price range. It's neither the most natural nor the worst when it comes to color shift that I've ever used. If you turn the ND filter on more, it tends to lean toward warmer tones, but that's easy to fix after the fact. I have yet to come across a filter that had no color shift at all Look at my image for a side by side of the same scene, shot with the ND filter and without.

Overall, for the price, I would definitely recommend it. K&F did a really good job with the materials used and also in producing a good quality image.
Great build quality and does a good job without changing the color too much

The K&F Concept 77mm Variable ND Lens Filter ND3-ND1000 (1.5 to 10 stops), adjustable putter HD neutral density filter with 28 multi-layer coatings for camera lenses:

This is a variable neutral density filter of the finest quality with little to no color shift. It covers 10 stops and is perfect for video or shooting with very shallow depth of field. Everything about this filter is of the highest quality. from the packaging to the leather filter holder. There is a pull tab on the side to eject the filter, and a finger knob on the filter itself to rotate the ND setting. This is a very fine piece of glass that you don't need to put twice in front of your best lenses. In the past I've had issues with severe color shift with other Vari NDs. So far this seems to be great. I'll report back if I find something I didn't see in my first impressions. This is a premium Vari-ND that I recommend to professional photographers and videographers. Very high quality materials and very well made. Nice glass.

This is a really nice filter that is definitely worth getting, especially if you don't have an ND filter yet. I use it on the standard lens that came with my Canon M50, and it's a lot of fun to play with. The lens itself looks and feels high quality and is easy to adjust. The case that comes with it is nice, but quite large.

This is a nice filter. I've been very impressed with the quality of K&F so far. It's obvious that they work with photographers to give them exactly what they need - not just scientists and marketers. It's well thought out and works beautifully.

I don't see any distortion from using this filter.

I do see a slight color shift (yellow/green). It looks slightly better than my Tiffen version with the same performance. It can be easily neutralized in post production (or by a custom white balance).

The knob/handle is great for easily adjusting the ND filter. I really like having the handle. The extra handle is also a nice addition.

The housing is attractive and works well.

I wish there had been a hard "stop" for the minimum and maximum settings. It will keep spinning and spinning. Not a big deal, but it would be a nice and welcome addition.

Overall, this is a great filter.
