The plastic stand plate, which is too small, and the correspondingly minimalistic mechanism for attaching the microscope stand mean that the microscope is very unstable. With a magnification of 1000x, it was very difficult for me to adjust the focus on the microscope without having to repeatedly move the objects to be viewed in the magnification (e.g. a brilliant). I returned the microscope.

Perfect for twins' 7th birthday. Both can look at the screen and the operation is super easy. We put dead insects in coin protectors so they can examine them properly

We are thrilled we bought it for the kids and it is sooo great. Finally no squinting to see something. Simply put the object of interest under the lens and off you go. With a bit of sensitivity you can adjust it with the various rotary knobs. No problem, you can even zoom in, which my children were amazed at. We looked at cotton mice and then fire beetles, ants, that was super cool, you recognized everything as if it were big. Of course you can't wiggle around and stump around while watching because the picture will shake with it, but the result was convincing. There is so much to discover on the list and we have no hesitation in recommending it, especially for young science kids
