Exadata (EXA) Lens Transferred to Nikon Z Series Mount Camera High Precision Lens Adapter, EXA-NIK Z
SKU: KF06.492
Mechanically (M42 threaded ring had to be turned approx. 15° to the right) and optically (mounting distance is correct) in order. Lenses (1.8/50mm and 2.8/135mm Pentacon electric multi coated) take sharp pictures with the Nikon Z6. However, these approx. 48-year-old glasses, although mechanically and optically completely OK, cannot be compared with today's glasses in terms of the sharpness. However, pictures look very pleasant without a direct comparison.

Nothing wobbles: on the Z6, Z7, Z6II, Z7II, Z5 and the Z50 ....... the perfect partner for "waste glass" :)

The adapter does not sit in the camera bayonet as firmly and immovably as a corresponding part from Nikon or a quality manufacturer. I would advise against using it to attach a long and heavy lens to the camera. After all, the inside is coated matt black - that's how it should be.

Very good, valuable processing! Fits perfectly on my Nikon Z 50 and makes it possible to use old M42 lenses (e.g. Helios 2/58) on the modern digital camera. Of course, all functions can be operated manually, since the old lenses have no electronics.

Since lenses with an M42 thread usually do not have an autofocus, I unfortunately cannot comment on this. The processing of the adapter is very good. There are no processing errors and the adapter does not wobble. A complete closure of the bayonet is therefore desirable and is also guaranteed by this adapter. With the lenses that I own and have tried, you can easily focus manually to infinity. The close-up limit is also reached. The adapter comes in a practical storage box which is rectangular and can therefore be easily stowed away. This adapter can be unlocked from the Z-mount very easily and without any problems. Screwing the M42 thread is just as easy. For the price, there is the consideration of buying several of these adapters.

My copy sits on the Nikon Z6 without play and with my M42 DDR lenses I can now also focus at infinity. Unfortunately, this was not possible with another adapter also purchased here on Amazon for around 10 euros. If you buy cheap, you often buy twice.

It's pretty expensive for a dumb M42 adapter, but you'll certainly feel a difference once you mount it on the camera. It goes on very easily, never feels like squeezing the bayonet due to poor form (a body with the cheapest adapters).
