This tripod is exactly what I needed for my Sony A7II. It is capable of holding up the weight of my camera and my bulky lenses. I especially like the ability to adjust the height with ease. I am no professional photographer but this meets all my needs as I can bring it with me on hiking trips since it's very light and fits in a small pouch that it comes with.

Why I didn’t order this sooner I’ll never know. Having used my old one for 25 years seemed to be okay. Then I put this in my shopping cart and left it there for months. Telling my friends to buy this, they did. I was the hold out! Why? I do t know. If you want a tripod that’s sturdy, durable, lightweight, compact, and versatile...then THIS is your tripod! I’m kicking myself for not getting this sooner! Well worth the money!

I had a very dumpy, Amazon Basics-style rudimentary tripod that lasted me over 10 years until last year. One of the wingnut adjustments was over-tightened and stopped working. Got a cheap, "heavy duty" $40 replacement from Walmart that lasted about 4 months. Finally took the plunge and ordered this tripod, and I'm definitely never looking back!

I only use it for extended periods while shooting the statues, figures and pieces I paint, so administer with a granule of sodium, but this thing is more than adequate for what I'm doing with it and I'm very confident it could survive any trips I made for reference shots for paintings, in any sort of environment. It feels sturdy, holds position with zero fuss, and even the ball head joint feels great a few months in. The nicest thing is the added arm, which will make videography an easy adjustment if and when I get around to recording myself working. Love this tripod so far!

I recently moved back to America from Japan and had to leave a lot of stuff behind, Including a Manfrotto tripod so I needed a new tripod to sell some things to help me get back on my feet. I looked at geekoto and some other brands and they're all pretty much like this one except they either had plastic where I didn't want plastic or it wasn't clear where the plastic on the tripod is. Using the Manfrotto for years, I at least know where I like there to be metal and this K&F unit has a cast aluminum mount and ball and it's all very smooth.

Likes:
Ball head: is solid and smooth. I would have preferred a toggle over a screw for the quick release plate.
Legs: well they're legs, the aluminum feels solid. The also have stabby things at the bottom if you remove the rubber feet. Some one mentioned the locks for the leg extension were unfinished and sharp. Mine are comfortable to use.
Column: Not too much to say. It does it's job. All the locks have comfortable rubber grips. Someone mentioned the column will collapse if pushed down on. That's true of mine too but I have to make an effort. It's not something that's happened during normal use.
Portability: was not a selling point for me but it's nice to have the option
Monopod: also not a selling point but another nice to have the option. I've never used one before but now that I have the option I might.
Bag: not a selling point, but it's a nice one if the zippers stand up to use, aka not YKK zippers.

My daughter and I both do video product reviews from time to time. I have jerryrigged solutions in the past for overhead shots. We wanted something a bit more professional and stable. This was exactly what we needed.

It is so cleverly designed and versatile. It can be a normal tripod, a monopod, an overhead or underslung tripod as well. It's reasonably light and comes with a great carry bag as well.

I will admit it took me a little while (aka fathoming the instructions) to find how the overhead part comes out of the main tripod. It cleverly stows away inside the main shaft when it is not needed.

So glad that I invested in this. Worth every penny.

You can probably get less functional and sturdier tripods for your money. BUT it is an excellent compromise between quality and functionality. It's better made than you think, although it's a long term life I can't tell yet. This allows for an almost unique range of heights that I would otherwise only be able to achieve with studio stands or poles. Allows you to shoot video overhead as well as in the studio. For me it will be mainly for studio use for quick and flexible setups when I need some urgent shooting. But I've used it outdoors and got angles with a remote that would have been tricky otherwise. I appreciate. I would have paid more for a deluxe version with maybe better leg lock positions and stronger springs. But it's fine, not a toy or a gimmick,

Pleasantly surprised by this tripod. I like the independent legs, the spirit level, the adjustment possibilities and the great height. I don't like the time it takes to set up the tripod, stabilize it, adjust the ball joint etc. A lot of adjustments are good but it takes time. And another thing a handle to move the device would not have displeased me. That's why I take off 1 star. At this canon price not everything can be perfect

Only received this today so haven't been in the field with it yet but gave it a thorough examination indoors with my heavy pro type equipment.
Appearance is very good and quality seems high at this price point. The ball head has a very fluid smooth movement and panning is very nicely dampened. When all tightened up in position it seems very sturdy with no hint of a wobble.
Many adjustments to suit all shooting situations and light enough to carry up to my local mountains for some landscape shots ! A fraction of the price of some branded models but not far behind in quality at all.
So far so good !
