Black Mist filters are designed to give a dreamy look to images and especially videos by creating a "glow effect" to the whole image. The hard edges of the image will be softened, but the contrast in dark areas will mostly be retained. For the best effect, you want to use this filter especially around light sources. A subtle glow will be added around the bright spots. In the box you will find the filter and a nifty carrying case which can also hold other filters of different sizes. This filter produces great photos and is comparable to many other filters that cost more than this one. The strength of the effect of this 1/8 varies depending on the scene, although it can be quite dramatic in some situations compared to other 1/4 filters. But with all that said and done, this particular strength is pretty much in the middle. It's never too much and it's never too little. Great filter.

I ordered the 55mm Black Soft Diffusion 1/8 Effects Filter to use with my Nikon D5600. I am a novice user but I appreciate the effects of this filter, especially in broad daylight. The effect is subtle but effective. There is beautiful flowering and minimal color change. No loss of image quality was observed. The filter threads make it easy to screw onto my camera lens. Well packed. Useful filter to have on hand for a variety of settings.

Got this for my X100F. The filter gives my photographs a natural film look that I can't achieve in Photoshop, which is exactly what I was looking for. The 1/8th was perfect for me because I wanted a very subtle but noticeable change.

This is my first review for the K&F Concept Magnetic Black Soft pro mist and I will keep updating it as I use it.

I am very happy about this K&F Concept pro mist. I received it tonight and am in love. I have previously ordered a similar diffuser from B&H from another brand and was disappointed, but this one is a whole different story. I love the magnetic feature, it's so intuitive and stupidly easy to use. It matches the picture, maybe even prettier! It is of very high quality and looks exactly as advertised. I love the details, I always try to find great deals like this one. I find it very reasonably priced for the quality it offers, everything about it screams quality. It feels very well made, is durable and easy to use. I really enjoy the design and functionality. At my age I am always looking for products and items that can make my life easier and better in some way. This product has improved my quality of life, I keep recommending it to friends and family, I will defiantly place another order soon. I am very satisfied with it and recommend it 100 percent. Definitely a great experience, no complaints whatsoever. All round great product and worth every penny!

Very good and absolutely essential for a photographer or videographer. Softens and diffuses direct light without affecting other areas of the image.

I have the threaded version of this filter from K&F Concept and was very happy with the quality. I use it regularly to add a subtle softening effect to my paintings. This new magnetic version is awesome! The magnetic attachment is very strong, making it quick and easy to install or remove the filter and lens cap. The construction quality is excellent; K&F filters are largely in the same league as Tiffen filters. We recommend!

I see that K&F have started making a number of different filters (ND, polarizers and diffusion) using this magnet system and I would definitely be interested in adding more to my collection as it is an excellent system. It would work particularly well for the 10-stop ND filter, since that's the kind of filter you have to keep turning on and off (because you can't see through it to focus). If you can turn it on and off it would make it SO much easier to use.

Soft nebula that has presence but doesn't overwhelm the subject.

Similar to expensive pro mist type filters, this gives the look a more cinematic sheen to videos and photos as it adds a slight haze to the look of the image. The filter gives lights a hazy effect without affecting sharpness and it also smoothes skin tones. All in all a nice filter that fits the camera and protects it and is better to have than a cheap UV filter. The glass doesn't stick to oil or fingerprints, so you don't have to constantly wipe it.

This is great when used in the right situations. I like to use it with my Fujifilm cameras. Build quality is as expected, which is pretty decent. I have no complaints. If you don't like this one, you might want to try a "Glimmer Glass" filter.
