Excellent filter - what a creative company!
K&F Concept really impresses me! They continue to bring out high quality and innovative products for the film and photography industry. This is a review of their current UV filter that I have on a Canon 85mm f1.4 lens. Now, I'm not an expert on lenses, except to say that I've been working with stills and video for about fifty years. (Yes, that's "50" - not a mistake) The glass looks beautiful. Flawless. No issues and no flaws at all. So how did K&F Concept do this above and beyond? The milled two edges of the filter ring have a true "dog tooth" design. Speaking of easy to grip and turn! Why did it take so long for someone to figure this out? Well, maybe this is done all the time, since I'm dozens of filters from years ago. I don't buy new filters these days. But if no one else does, K&F Concept needs a long overdue credit! And a word on UV filters. Yes, sometimes they can help. High altitude work. Snow in bright sunlight. But mostly for protection. For example, I was standing in a non-public area along the short straightaway as the cars drove by me. I kept getting hit by something. Couldn't figure it out. Finally realized that rubber was coming off the tires at high speed. So, yes, a UV filter was a good idea. But if you're shooting indoors in a controlled environment, take it off. You don't need extra glass between your subject and the lens. Bottom line: I don't think you'll find better quality than K&F Concept's UV filters. Great filter with handles, packaged with a cleaning cloth and a short strap to attach to the filter body. Impressive company!
