I use an iPhone for my phone and this thermal camera does not support IOS or iPhones which is okay because almost everyone has access to an Android phone or tablet at least around here. The camera app is very easy to use and there are some features I'm still exploring, but I only really needed the basic functionality of being able to thermal image an object or area and take a video or some snapshots. During the summer it's great to be able to pinpoint where your insulation is lacking for thermal insulation and leakage and during the winter for outside the house to see where your heat is escaping. After installing the app I just plugged in the thermal camera and was off and running snapping pictures and measuring temperatures around my house. It's really cool to be able to see the studs and wiring in the wall, works much better than a stud finder and is quicker too. The camera showed me right away where the insulation was non-existent or severely lacking in my house and I could also make out wiring in the walls if there was a load on the circuit and the studs clearly. Kind of like X-ray vision and it's great for checking if you have mice in the house too.The speed of the camera was fine because I don't really see the need for a high frame rate. I'm not using this IR camera in a battlefield or in combat. Price wise this is in line with other thermal cameras and the device seems solidly built and worked straight out of the box. I'll use this occasionally at work when I go to different offices and can show the owner(s) where their leaks or problem areas for their buildings.
