Excellent materials, robustness and pure buckles with double closure. But no padding.
K&F Concept is a company that is now known for offering photo and video accessories with an excellent price/performance ratio. This is certainly also the case with this shoulder strap, which is characterized at first glance by the use of high-quality materials. The actual shoulder strap is made of a reinforced nylon fabric similar to that used in automotive seat belts. It is therefore a very robust material that can withstand enormous forces. In addition, the fabric looks particularly elegant, with a silver Phrygian finish reminiscent of the metal buckles on the shoulder strap itself. The buckles that allow wide length adjustment are even made of aluminum alloy, while the removable buckles are made by Duraflex, a company that specializes in exactly this type of product. The latter have a high-quality double hook system that requires both hands to be used to unhook them. This is a remarkable solution that benefits security. The leather elements placed in front and behind the buckles are of excellent quality and are made of fine leather and double nylon stitching. The effect is precious and luxurious, but personally I would have preferred the use of modern synthetic materials also for these elements, also for reasons of coherence of the whole. Finally, the camera mounting cables deserve special mention. In appearance they appear to be identical to many others, but in reality they are constructed in three layers, with the inside of each colored yellow and, even deeper, red to graphically indicate the degree of wear on the shoulder strap and the resulting risk of breakage. A simple system but undoubtedly valuable. In practice, the shoulder strap is appreciated for its excellent overall quality and, above all, for the feeling of robustness it gives. It safely and widely supports the Sony Alpha 7-IV with lenses of a certain weight, such as the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 III USM mounted with a Sigma MC-11 adapter. The ability to adjust the length of the shoulder strap between 100 and 160 cm means it can also be used sideways, i.e. the camera on one side and the shoulder strap on the opposite shoulder. The width of the fabric, 3.2 cm, allows good weight distribution, also thanks to the flexibility and adaptability of the material. The only real limitation of the product is the lack of soft padding to use, particularly on the neck. It is true that the 3.2 cm long band is wide, but not as wide as an additional band covered with padded and rubberized material. In addition, the rubberized padding would also serve as a system that limits slipping. According to the manufacturer, doing without would guarantee greater breathability and a lower weight than the whole thing. However, this information is not in line with a maximum load capacity, which is stated as a whopping 40 kg and which therefore suggests that heavy equipment can be attached to the shoulder bag itself. Personally, I would have thought it would have been more logical to include the additional padding in the package and let the user choose whether to use it or not. The defect just mentioned is the only defect in a product that would otherwise have no trouble achieving the highest rating. The price of 43.99 euros is not low in absolute terms, but it is absolutely justified by the excellent overall quality of the product.
