Protects against scratches and does not affect image quality
If you google whether a UV filter is worth it or not you will find a lot of people saying they ruin your photos, I never found that. I took identical images with and without a filter under all sorts of conditions and there was no difference at all. A case for the filter is also included, which is very useful
