Too stiff, WD40 the solution?
I would like to write my first product review here. The filter is of high quality and only builds up thinly in front of the lens, but the manufacturer has wiped the two rings boldly for a "smooth" turning feeling. This leads to virtually "zero tolerance" between the rings and nothing wobbles. However, this grease feels as if it were already drawing a vacuum when it is rotated, which makes the filter almost useless in practice. This rotates (also ever depending on the temperature) so heavy that your fingers slip or the filter unscrews when turning to the left. Cannot be operated with GeLi or gloves. When I wanted to turn the filter back, I came up with the idea of spraying a little assembly oil (e.g. WD40) between the gap and turning it to distribute it. Lo and behold: it runs smoothly and is buttery soft. Long-term experience is missing, so please only imitate it on your own responsibility, because I can't say how the oil will spread further or leak out again, which could lead to oily fingers on the shoot; would be very bad.
