For panoramic shots you can loosen the lower ring and rotate the camera on the tripod. You can turn the whole thing around to place the camera close to the ground. You can unscrew one leg, screw the rest back on top and get a "walking stick" to attach the camera to. When folded, you can easily attach it to a photo backpack. Weight 1.9KG.
