Excellent filter, K&F quality, includes useful extras at a reasonable price
have been a fan of K&F Filters and many of their other photography products for some time and have come to appreciate the brand's durability and quality. Most of my lenses live their life with a K&F Concept UV protection filter on the front. I have sufficiently tested the transmittance and sharpness of K&F UV filters in the past, so I now consider them a trusted brand. I am confident in their quality. And that's the point, right? In my opinion, they are a trustworthy seller. I needed a protection filter for a 24mm-70mm zoom lens I recently purchased. The ultra-thin frame of the MCUV filter is what caught my eye and the reason I ordered it. And for that reason, it worked well. When the lens is set to the widest focal length, 24mm, the Ultra Slim Filter does not affect the image area. Therefore, it does not cause vignetting. UV filters are effective when shooting on film, although some emulsions are/have been formulated to be insensitive to UV light. However, they offer little to no additional benefit when capturing with a digital sensor. Modern digital sensors record the entire spectrum of visible light unfiltered, as well as portions of the invisible infrared and ultraviolet light spectra. To record only visible light, so photos look like how we see the world, digital camera manufacturers install what is called an IR-cut hot mirror filter over the digital sensor and Bayer array. Digital cameras sold without this filter are called a "full spectrum camera." If you're not sure if your camera is full spectrum, it isn't. That means you don't need to filter out UV light, the manufacturer has already done that for you. In my digital imaging, I use UV filters to protect the front element of expensive lenses. And in this regard, the K&F Concept MCUV filter offers protection for expensive lenses without affecting camera settings or image quality, thus providing cost-effective insurance. If it happens to offer an additional UV filter, that's a bonus. The physical properties of the filter are, without exaggeration, its almost feather-light weight as well as the faceted chinas around the perimeter that provide a good grip. I use a 67mm — 62mm graduation ring for the filter. The thread on the front of the filter provides sufficient depth for the secure attachment of the ring and thus the associated stacked filter. The K&F front lens cap that comes with the filter is equal in quality to, if not improved upon, the OEM lens cap that came with the lens. The clamp levers are easy to use, firmly spring loaded and ensure a firm hold of the filter or lens. As I mentioned at the beginning, I have come to rely on the quality of K&F filters for the reasons the seller claims, but most importantly for me, the high quality of their multi-coated AGC anti-reflective glass. AGC, a Japanese company, is the largest glass manufacturer in the world. Another reason why I have confidence in K&F filters. The filter comes with a lens cap, a lens cap lanyard, a high-quality microfiber lens cleaning cloth and a plastic storage case. K&F Concept offers good value for money and doesn't cut corners.

Excellent Filter, K&F Quality, includes Useful Extras
I’ve been a fan of K&F Filters for some time now, and have come to appreciate the consistency and the quality of the brand. The majority of my lenses live their lives with a K&F Concept UV protective filter on their front element.

I have done enough testing of the transmittance and sharpness of K&F UV filters in the past that I now consider them a trusted brand; I feel confident in their quality. And that’s the point, right? In my opinion, they’re a trusted seller.

I needed a protective filter for a new lens I purchased, a 28mm; the ultra-slim frame of the MCUV filter is why it became of interest to me and the reason I ordered it. And for that reason, it worked out well; it doesn’t infringe on the image area. Therefore, it doesn’t introduce any vignetting.

UV filters have an efficacy when recording on film, even though some emulsions are/were formulated to be insensitive to UV light, but have no added benefit when capturing to a digital sensor. Modern digital sensors, unfiltered, record the entire spectrum of visible light, as well as portions of the spectrums of invisible infrared and ultraviolet light. In order to record only visible light, so photographs appear the way we see the world, digital camera manufacturers install what is called an IR Cut Hot Mirror filter over the digital sensor and its Bayer Array. Digital cameras sold without this filter are referred to as a “Full Spectrum Camera.” If you’re not sure if your camera is full spectrum, it’s not. Which means you don’t need to filter out UV light, it already is.

In the case of my digital imaging, I use UV filters to protect the front element of expensive lenses. And in that respect, the K&F Concept MCUV Filter provides protection for expensive lenses without impacting camera settings or image quality, in effect providing inexpensive insurance.

As I noted at the beginning, I’ve come to rely on the quality of K&F filters, and for the reasons that the seller asserts, but most importantly to me, the high quality of their AGC multi-coated, anti-reflective glass; AGC is a Japanese company and the largest manufacturer of glass in the world. Another reason I have confidence in K&F filters.

The filter is supplied with a lens cap, a lanyard for the lens cap, a high-quality microfiber lens cleaning cloth and a plastic storage case.

Basic UV Filter
Please note I’m not an expert and nor do I own any equipment that can test the manufacture’s claims. I can only compare my experience with this filter vs my Hoya and B&W filters. I got the 58mm filter. The filter come in a semi-hard case. The filter kit includes a micro fiber cloth, pinch lens cap, and lens cap tether.

The filter was clear and I didn’t notice any blemish in the filter. It threaded onto my Olympus 75-300mm II lens without any issues. Usually cheap filter can cause extra flaring or ghosting in your image when you have a strong light source. I took a several test pictures of different light sources and I did notice a very minor flaring/ghosting in the image if pointed just right at the light source. Another issue that cheap filters can cause is poor autofocus or decrease in image sharpness. I did not notice any of those issues. I did not notice any vignetting with this filter in place.

K&F Concept sells several different UV filters. This is their basic filter which has 18 multi-layer coating but (according to their marketing material) is not Waterproof or Scratch-Resistant. K&F Concept does sell pricier UV Filters that will provide those features if you need them. For the low cost these sell for, I don’t feel you can go wrong with this filter if you want a basic UV Filter to protect your lens.

Excellent quality for the money
Filters are a great addition to your camera gear and can enhance your shots however filters are generally not cheap, especially as you go up in diameter. I have a bunch of Canon L glass including the 100-400L IS, the 70-200 F2.8L IS and the 24-70L f2.8. These filters fit the 24-70L f.28 with the 82mm diameter, however I mention the other lenses as they both take 77mm filters. Rather than buy 2 sets of filters (82mm and 77mm) which would be expensive, you can use a filter step down adapter which is relatively cheap and use the single set of filters on all 3 lenses. If you go this route I would recommend opting for a bronze filter adapter as these are less prone to changes in temperature so are less likely to stick.

Normally I go for B&W F Pro filters as these are extremely well made and of a very high quality. This K&F Concept set of filters however are of very high quality as well.

This set consists of 3 of your most common filters, UV filter, CPL and a ND filter. Each has its own use. I've met a lot of people who use a UV filter on their lenses for protection, in case they accidently drop of bump their lens, they would rather break the UV filter rather than the front lens component however UV filters do have their use. They slightly reduce the blue/grey casting caused by ultraviolet and are very handy when at height or photographing mountains causing slightly sharper images. I tested this K&F Concepts filter during a recent trip to the Rocky Mountains in Tennessee, taking photographs both with and without the filter and after importing the RAW files in Lightroom, there is a noticeable different once you zoom in on the image.

The CPL filter is used to reduce glare mainly when shooting water or metallic objects. Normally when you shoot say a pond with ducks floating on it, you will get the reflection of the duck or the sky from the water however using a CPL filter it reduces the glare and you can see down into the water.

Lastly you have the ND filter. Neutral density filters come in varying strengths with this one being an ND4 filter which is good for 2 stops of light. Say you come across a beautiful waterfall or fast running stream and you want to get that nice glassy water look that a lot of people take, this is when you would break out your ND filter, allowing you to take a longer shot which would give you that look without sacrificing any of the colors.

I've used cheaper filters before with varying degrees of success. With some you will notice vignetting or blurring towards the edge of the picture. This isn't a problem with these K&F Concept filters. They are well made and sharp corner to corner.

The K&F Concepts filters come in a nice little velcroed pouch and each filter has its own re-sealable plastic bag for keeping the filters clean. On that note this filter set also comes with a small lens brush for wiping away dirt and smudges that you inevitably get on them.

Overall this is a very good quality set of filters at an extremely reasonable price and I have no problems with putting them on my Canon L glass lenses.

Well-made filters that reduce reflections and protect your lens
These are actually two filters, one UV and one circular polarizing. You can use them separately or stack them on top of each other. These are well made filters, the ring is very small so they don't cause vignetting even when stacking both filters on wide angle lenses. These screwed onto my lens smoothly and stayed secure. They only reduce the value a little and once screwed on there is an outer ring that allows you to rotate the polarizer to get the best effect. The UV filter helps reduce atmospheric haze and makes the air appear clearer. Many people also leave a UV filter on to protect the front element of their lens from dust and splashes. The circular polarizer reduces reflections from water, glasses and windows. Because it reduces reflections, you can see right into the water, making it look clearer and cleaner. It also helps provide a clearer sky image when photographing outside. This is the “K” series filter, they also have a “D” series. I'm not sure what the exact difference is between the two, as K&F's own website doesn't really explain it. As far as I can tell, the "K" series (this one) are slightly cheaper with fewer layers of coating, the K series doesn't seem to have a water and oil repellent coating. Definitely well made filters that do the job.

A good quality filter, essentially free of chromatic aberration, flare and ghosting.
Speaking of myths, what do UV filters do?

Originally, UV filters and their cousins, Haze filters, were placed in front of the lens to mitigate the effects of UV light on panchromatic and color films because they are close to blue in the light spectrum. This is not a problem in digital photography.

Some (here) say that a UV filter prevents UV damage to the lens or its coatings. Interesting, but I've never heard this claim before and couldn't find a knowledgeable photographer who did it via a web search.

Some say that a UV filter can protect a lens from breaking if dropped. Most photographers/lens manufacturers agree that today's lenses are far more robust than a UV filter, which can very well be broken if the lens is dropped.

Some say that a UV filter can cause flare or ghosting (especially in high-contrast scenes) in the final image. Most photographers report that when such an event happens, it is barely noticeable.

UV filters serve a practical purpose in digital photography: they prevent scratches and foreign objects from coming into contact with the front part of the lens. The point is that dust, sand, saliva, sweat, rain, snow, salt spray, etc. are easier to clean off a filter than a lens, while protecting the lens from relentless, potentially abrasive cleaning programs.

I got this filter to test for chromatic aberration, flare and ghosting - while using it as a lens protector. I haven't noticed any significant effects. If I want to be picky, very high contrast scenes (bright lights on a dimly lit street) can have a bit of ghosting. The filter is well made, robust and has no visible flaws in the glass or coatings.

Without wishing to demean anyone, I suspect that the average photographer would not see any negative effects in their images due to this filter. I received the 72mm, which I fully recommend.

Optically perfect. K&F Hits another one out of the park.
K&F’s build quality has been second to none in the last several years. They’ve created a series of extremely high-quality filters using very slim precision machined brass rings ( brass is a much better material to use for this purpose than aluminum. It’s much less likely to strip threads or to cross thread) and excellent optical glass. This filter is no exception. It has absolutely no optical distortion whatsoever. It filters UV and pretty much nothing else I think it has about a 99.9% visible light transmission. Most people use UV filters to protect their lenses but it’s also helpful to filter out UV light for photographic reasons. It can help to increase the life of your camera sensor and prevent distortion in the images. The anti-reflection coding on this is extraordinary. This competes well with my expensive high end German filters that cost up to four times as much money. This filter is slim enough that it should not interfere with the image or create any vignetting even with wide-angle lenses. This is my review for the UV filter but honestly every K&F filter I have purchased has been extraordinary.Look at the photo and see if you can tell any difference.

Clear & High Quality
I have had many UV filters from multiple brands. This is now one of my favorites. It is exceptionally clear, light weight, and well built. The included storage case is also top notch. I'm going to have the leather flap labeled with a laser. The box converts into a picture frame which is oddly cool.

Q
Is this waterproof or water resistant?
A
No, it is not waterproof and please keep it away from water.
Q
Does the lens protect the camera from water?
A
Like any other filter, this protects the front lens from water splashes.
Q
Hello everyone. i am going to buy uv filters but i have some questions about this product. is this filter strong enough to protect the camera?
A
The UV filter is good for protecting the front lens from contamination and the inner workings of your lens from UV radiation. Good filters swallow almost no light and have no color cast. In most cases, however, the UV protection of the lenses in the lens is not necessary, since they are already coated and have their own protection. The filters do a good job of protecting against dirt and scratches.
Q
Do the filters work with fluorescent light (e.g. halogen lamps) or are there concentric rings?
A
They are all screw filters
Q
Do they make a UV filter that fits in this kit also?
A
Sorry, now this filter kit only has a supporting CPL filter, UV filter doesn't include in it.
