This is the first time that I had used a variable ND filter so I was a little bit skeptical.

I thought that it would cause uneven lighting across my picture, but to my amazement, it does not. Actually I really cool little product, not sure how it works, but as you turn the filter the lens will darkn or lighten accordingly and is very even all the way across.

Have not noticed any color cast or any issues with picture quality. I actually ordered a second one for another lens that I video with.

I have only used this filter for video, no stills, so I have not cropped in to see if there has been any decrease in sharpness, but have not noticed any decrease in video quality. would purchase again.

If you are taking photos (or especially videos) outdoors in sunlight, you NEED a variable ND filter.

When shooting at 30fps video, you need to keep your shutter speed at 1/60 (because of the 180 rule) to get natural blur and smoothness. If you want a nice blurred background at f/2.8, even at ISO 100 there's a big chance your image will be horribly exposed. Your only options are to increase the shutter speed (and spoil the natural look with annoying "choppyness") or crank it up to f/16, which will flatten your image and get rid of that blurry background you want!

In addition, there is the variable ND filter. When applied like variable sunglasses, it allows for the amount of light to let through, much like an intimidating bouncer at a nightclub. So just turn the ring on the filter and you can get your shot perfectly!

There were two small things that annoyed me about this particular filter
: 1. The ring has no actual stops, just continuous rotation, so you can't really keep track of the specific amount of light you're letting in.
The filter on my Tamron 28-75 2.8 lens, I cannot put on the lens cap at the same time. Not a deal breaker, but annoying when you want to quickly snap a photo or shoot a video.

But for the price, it's hard to argue that this isn't a great buy.

This is my first variable ND filter. I have to use it for my video needs. It is a solidly built filter with reusable packaging for storage. For the price, I love it for shooting videos. Especially on bright days when I'm in focus, this helps give my videos a bit of atmosphere and focus on the subject. Can't speak to photos as I haven't had the opportunity to take this out for landscape shots. If I do, I'll definitely update. For the price, I find the 10 Stops to be a great addition to my on-the-go gear for video needs.

I bought this variable ND solely for video recording with a mirrorless camera. The result I was aiming for was keeping my lens aperture wide open and using the ND filter to control my exposure. This allowed me to shoot at 24fps and 1/48 for a cinematic look in variable light without having to adjust the lens aperture. I am very happy with the results.
The filter is well made and was packaged well and came with a good case.
The only thing I wished for was that my lens cap had the filter attached. Unfortunately, the diameter of the ND filter is slightly larger than the lens diameter. It's a minor con for me and wouldn't stop me from recommending this product.

This variable ND filter is of very high quality and sits firmly on my lenses. I bought it for video production to work with an open aperture. Without the ND filter, my video recordings with an open aperture quickly burned out and were therefore unusable.

With this filter, a ring can be turned on the filter, which controls the light transmission.

Highly recommended for anyone looking for a high quality ND filter at a great price.

I will definitely buy another one with a different diameter.
