I'd give this a five star but for the ball head. It doesn't lock well with a spotting scope or a heavy lens and camera body on it. I ended up buying a Neewer pan/tilt head, which fortunately fits the K&F tripod well. Other than that, it is a decent piece of equipment. Just keep in mind, it is a travel tripod, and won't give you a solid mount impervious to wiggling from wind or hand adjustments. For that, I continue to look for that elusive affordable tripod.

I've wanted a carbon fiber tripod for a long time and I have a lot of K&F concept equipment and am a huge fan because everything from this brand that I have got has exceeded my expectations of quality. I am absolutely thrilled with this tripod and as a content creator I use it every day. It's replaced my old aluminum one that was still nice, but this is just sooooo nice! Everything works very smoothly and the build quality is excellent and you can just tell the moment you pick it up that it's a high quality product.How My Star Rating System Works & What They Mean:1 STAR - Pretty much junk and I would return and ask for a refund if I could.2 STAR - It works, but barely meets the minimum requirements it should in order to keep it and not return it, but I would not order again.3 STAR - It does what it was designed to do, but there's nothing really special about it. It's acceptable but not great.4 STAR - I am very comfortable recommending it to a friend because it is is well made, durable, and delivers on its advertised features, and I would buy it again.5 STAR - I really love it. The item exceeds my expectations of quality, durability and functionality. Amazing tripod indeed it is. Only reason for the 1 star is, I just unboxed this and noticed that one of the legs are broken on this as I was getting ready to do a test recording. And it's really annoying because it keeps calling apart and what notOtherwise, amazing tripod. I am definitely asking for a replacement as I'm not spending money on something that could have had a factory defective or just broken. I'll 5 star once I get replacement and that one is ok!

The tripod is well made and very sturdy. It supports a decent size camera very well and it should hold a star tracker as well as the camera just fine.
