A worthwhile purchase in the price range.
I've tested the filter for a few days now and I have to say that I really like the option to adjust the ND level. With my old camera I had different filters, which of course is always a question of space when you just want to get going. Of course, the results are not comparable to much more expensive ND filters. But it's just practical to take nice pictures of bodies of water, or to put waterfalls in the right picture. What I have noticed negatively so far is that there was a reflection within the filter in direct sunlight, but this could be eliminated by a slightly different position of the camera. I will continue to test the filter. The durability must be observed to see if there are any problems with the rotating mechanism in the long run.

Very good quality top ND filters for the Osmo Action 3
Why do you need filters? It's a valid question, of course, who hasn't asked themselves that? I think everyone has stumbled across this topic and this question... The answer to this is very simple and surprising in view of this video - no, you don't need filters on a camera, it works without them... but it would be more of an advantage than a disadvantage which to have and use. Anyone who works a lot on the water and beach, like me, or of course, like most of you, vacations there, quickly learns to appreciate filters. First, they are a very good protection against dust or sand from the beach. Of course, a filter also protects the lens, the lens in the camera. So much for the obvious, but the main job of a filter is to let less light through onto the sensor, it's like putting sunglasses on the camera. This has the advantage that longer exposure times can be achieved. It helps the camera to adjust and react faster in automatic mode when controlling the exposure time or white balance. Or if you prefer to work in Pro mode, you will quickly find that the exposure, the shutter, generally works better.
In general, filters make the water smoother, and there are also fewer reflections. Or if you take great landscape shots, the sky immediately looks a little bluer. Filters also enhance the colors generally, making them more vibrant. DJI has, in my opinion, excellent colors and in connection with a filter, the recordings are made automatically. This saves you having to color the film material because it comes out of the camera almost finished. Of course, the full professionals among you have other requirements and such, but I'm speaking here for the normal user, like you and me...
There are different ND filters. It starts **in my set at ND 4 and goes up to ND32. The ND4 filter lets only ¼ of the light through to the sensor and the ND32 filter 1/32. I use my filters like this... morning ND4, midday ND8, noon to afternoon ND16 and afternoon to late afternoon when the sun is very high ND32, and then in the evening just before the golden hour I go down again with the filter strengths. Over time you will get the hang of when and where which filter is best used is not witchcraft, even if many would like you to believe it.
Especially in summer or in winter when there is snow, I think it should at least be almost mandatory to have ND filters with you. If you like to film in Pro mode and work a lot with it, it is almost a must to work with filters alone because otherwise you cannot work with exposures in a meaningful way....

Really nice, but...
...instead of the 64 ND/PL filter, a 4 ND/PL filter would certainly have been the more consumer-friendly choice.

But what is the >>K&F Concept ND/PL filter set, 4-pack ND8&PL,ND16&PL,ND32&PL,ND64&PL filter compatible with DJI-Mavic 3<< to be reviewed here actually talking about? What purpose do they serve or should they serve?

Well, most drones today – above a certain price range – are equipped with high-quality, high-resolution camera systems. The parameters of these can be set using the associated flight control software either yourself or via the automatic system.

You will always have to make compromises. For example, if you want to display the cloud pattern in the sky as realistically as possible, the background of the landscape often disappears in the dark or, conversely, the sky "drowns" due to overexposure and the ground reveals its secrets. (Everything is shown in a very shortened form) However, the camera, like us humans, needs “sunglasses” in bright sunlight. And this is exactly the task of the filters reviewed here. As ND filters, they enable more specific camera settings in bright light. Because this is dampened. Anyone who is interested in more detail is referred to the relevant YouTube videos. This can only be roughly described here.

In addition to the pure ND filters, which simply differ in their light transmission in numerical values (4 / 8 / 16 /32 /64 etc.), where the higher the number, the less light is transmitted, these filters also have a POLISARITIONS -Possibility.

To do this, they only let through special – depending on the direction of rotation – horizontally or vertically POLARIZED light waves. Now what is this good for? Well, you have certainly already admired the brightness reflections on a water surface, for example, because they are beautiful to look at, or just cursed because they outshine everything in your photo? Well, these reflections can be (almost) completely eliminated with these polarizing filters. Simply by carefully rotating the filters. As a result, light rays are only let through in one POLIRISATION level (vertical or horizontal), and the light scattering of the reflection is thus destroyed.

So, swap out the front camera cover on the drone camera for an equivalent filter. You try the right filter selection by holding individual filters in front of the camera and choosing the most suitable one for the lighting conditions found.

The 64 filter complained about here can actually only be used in the desert or in snow, which strongly reflects the sunlight. A 4 filter, on the other hand, is much better suited to most of the sunlight conditions that occur here.

Otherwise, the filters cut a very good figure, are, if I judge correctly, very true to color and can be easily exchanged for the original lens protection of a DJI - Mavic 3.

To understand how the filters work, it is best to always use the same motif and change the filters. Since I can't fly at the moment, I always took the same shot in our kitchen. The different ND filter effects can only be
seen from the darkening. Please pay attention to the individual explanations of the ND filters used. Unfortunately, I was not able to show the polarization effect accordingly.

I would like to thank you for your interest in this review and I hope that I was a little helpful with the product selection and assessment?

It's a must have in your camera bag and at a fraction of the cost of other brands of variable ND filters.

Root filter
The optical quality of the filter is not correct. The filter gives almost all images a clearly visible red cast. If you don't want to correct the color of all polarized photos, it's better to use other products.

Q
What are the outer dimensions of the filter? Can I stack ND filters?
A
You can stack filters by purchasing filters of the same caliber and stacking them together (e.g. a 77CPL filter, then stack a 77 ND filter on top)
Q
Can other filters be installed on the magnetic ND?
A
If it is a magnetic filter from K&F CONCEPT, it can be used as long as the caliber is the same. It is not possible if it is a threaded or other brand filter.
Q
Is there a polarizing filter that can be used in conjunction with these ND filters?
A
In all drone filters, you cannot do stacking.
Q
Are the ND values of all three filters the same for ND and ND&PL filters?
A
The ND values of the three filters are different. In order to avoid the phenomenon of suitable exposure for wide-angle cameras and medium telephoto cameras and underexposure for telephoto cameras, the light reduction values of the three lenses are slightly different. For example: Wide angle ND8, medium telephoto ND8, telephoto for ND0 Wide angle ND16, medium telephoto ND16, telephoto ND8 Wide angle ND32, medium telephoto ND32, telephoto ND16 Wide angle ND64, medium telephoto ND64, telephoto ND3 ND&PL filters also have the same ND value distribution as ND filters
Q
Can the filters be stacked up example attach the ND and the polariser on top of each other?
A
If you mean the cpl and nd in this kit, yes, it can be stacked up. but if you mean your own other filters, it needs to be a magnetic filter.
