I'm no professional photographer, but I am one that loves photography and have dabbled in it for over 35 years. As a matter of fact, at 16 years old, I spent about $120 on a very heavy duty Bogen tripod. I still have it, and it still works excellent, but I swear it weighs 40 lbs. It also doesn't collapse quickly and easily and I just don't bring it out very often.

In the ensuing years, and there's a lot of them, I have owned around half a dozen additional tripods. I have mid-level tripods I have purchased that are about the same price as this K&F, as well as some cheapos that I regret.

For me, I like having the ability to do everything with the tripod from holding a webcam, to holding a lightweight action camera, to holding my current camera which is a Nikon D 5600. I own 5 Nikon lenses now, and a couple of them are pretty heavy, much heavier than the camera itself.

I'm giving you that background to let you know that nothing I have used outside of the original Bogen tripod I referenced earlier has been as stout and versatile as this tripod. For me, this is the real deal. This is something I plan to use for all of my excursions with my SLR hopefully for many years to come. So far, it is proving to be reliable although my use of it has been limited due to the pandemic and the fact that I am not traveling much for work (I enjoyed taking photos during my work trips as one of my primary ways of staying creative and exploring my photography).

Even though all of the photos I have uploaded our brand new of the tripod out of the box, it has now seen a fair bit of use around my property and a handful of other places including in the middle of a stream and on some uneven ground on a mountainside near my home. One of the things I really look forward to doing next spring is macro photography of flowers (and insects! See attached photos I took with this tripod in my Nikon late in the summer in my yard) with the awesome arm extension this tripod gives you.

Unfortunately I have not had the opportunity to use this tripod in as many scenarios as I would like, but I will say that it is in a class entirely of its own when it comes to tripods costing approximately the same amount of money (IMO). In comparison to anything I have seen in the same price range I think this should without question be in your top two or three to consider. There's obviously a lot of research and development that has gone into this tripod to make it a quality, long-lasting product.

As to any negatives, I will report that the only concern I have is how long the quick release leg extensions will last. On two cheaper tripods I have used extensively in the past those have been the first thing to go. Because, well, I actually use them. I enjoy taking tripods with me when I backpack - and on a 3-day backpacking trip, the legs will be extended and then collapsed probably three or four dozen times if not more. It just seems like these quick-release type plastic tension devices wear down and can break easily. I don't know if others have had experience with this sort of thing similar to me, but I'm hoping I can treat this right... so it lasts!

Highly recommended and worth considering even if you are an amateur or semi professional photographer and need either a primary tripod or a backup for travel.

I'm just starting out in photography myself and have a lot of tripods, all of which are basically pretty cheap. I bought this one hoping it was professional level and I might be happier. This baby is solid. I don't know much about tripods but this is the very first tripod that I find very professional. I'm sure there are much better ones out there but at my level this is the best I've ever had. For reference only, I am 52 years old.

I have several classic tripods and finally this one replaces them easily. With the added advantage of being able to film vertically (which I was looking for). Superb color and excellent value for money.

Why do you need filters? It's a valid question, of course, who hasn't asked themselves that? I think everyone has stumbled across this topic and this question... The answer to this is very simple and surprising in view of this video - No, you don't need filters on a camera, it works without it...***but...It would be more an advantage as a disadvantage to have and use some. Anyone who works a lot on the water and beach, like me, or of course, like most of you, vacations there, quickly learns to appreciate filters. First, they are a very good protection against dust or sand from the beach. Of course, a filter also protects the lens, the lens in the camera. So much for the obvious, but the main job of a filter is to let less light through onto the sensor, it's like putting sunglasses on the camera. This has the advantage that longer exposure times can be achieved. It helps the camera to adjust and react faster in automatic mode when controlling the exposure time or white balance. Or if you prefer to work in Pro mode, you will quickly find that the exposure, the shutter, generally works better. In general, filters make the water smoother, and there are also fewer reflections. Or if you take great landscape shots, the sky immediately looks a little bluer. Filters also enhance the colors generally, making them more vibrant. DJI has, in my opinion, excellent colors and that in connection with a filter automatically makes the recordings **//LVL UP. This saves you having to color the film material because it comes out of the camera almost finished. Of course, the full professionals among you have other requirements and such, but I'm talking here for the normal user, like you and me... There are different ND filters. It starts **in my set at ND 4 and goes up to ND32. The ND4 filter lets only ¼ of the light through to the sensor and the ND32 filter 1/32. I use my filters like this... in the morning ND4, towards noon ND8, noon to afternoon ND16 and afternoon to late afternoon when the sun is very high ND32, and then in the evening just before the golden hour I go down again with the filter strengths. Over time, you will figure out when and where which filter is best used, is not witchcraft, even if many want you to believe that. Especially in summer or in winter when there is snow, I think it should at least be almost mandatory to have ND filters to have. If you like to film in Pro mode and work a lot with it, it is almost a must to work with filters alone because otherwise you cannot work with exposures in a meaningful way.... I’m just getting into photography myself and I have many tripods basically all are pretty cheap. I bought this one in hopes it would be on a professional level and I could be happier. This baby is solid. I don’t know much about tripods but this is the very first tripod that I feel as though it is very professional.
