Ordered this tripod for... this. Primarily, Vine reviews, but also for casual photography whims. In the past, I've tried to take photographs of products where holding the phone steady was awkward or difficult. A desktop tripod may have been more suitable for some cases, but this works well standing it adjacent to the desk with the ball head slotted so that the phone's lens can be aimed at the desk's surface.

Not being a professional photographer, the finer points will certainly be missed. However, on durability, professional experience is not necessary here to realize the limits of plastic components. Notably, the socket that the ball head fits into at the top of the of the tripod and the joints connecting the vertical shaft to the three legs are likely failure points when the plastic has aged. For my usage, I expect to keep this cool and out of the sun, so I'm not terribly worried about the durability aside from occasional bumps while moving the tripod. Certainly, if I had needs for a tripod to take on long trips where I had little control over the environment, I would be inclined to pay more for something that I felt offered greater durability.

At the price point, the critical plastic parts should not be terribly surprising, but deserve mentioning. It's one of the few, arguable, faults that can be found with casual observation. It is versatile and I believe the product description to be accurate regarding its feature set. That is, every knob, screw, extension, or latch on the tripod behaves as I would expect them to. The only feature that seems to come up short is the integrated circular level on the head. It does not appear to be accurate enough to offer substantial guidance. However, this is a conclusion formed without rigorous testing and measurements.

A review might be incomplete without some applaud for the panoramic motion offered on the head of the tripod. It is exceptionally smooth, and feels luxurious. For a budget market solution, I'm not sure that it would be expected of a tripod.

With some certainty, this appears to be a great product for anyone that wants explore photography without making a substantial investment or just happens to need some tripod for some brief period.

The tripod is delivered securely packed in a box and a tripod bag and makes a stable and valuable impression. I think it's great that this tripod comes with a matching carrying bag, which also looks very nice and is also very stable and valuable. The processing of the tripod is very good and made with high-quality materials. For its size (assembled 50 cm with bag) it is not too heavy either. It can be assembled compactly, which makes it easy to transport. The assembly and disassembly is very easy and quick. The tripod can be extended up to a height of 2m and is very stable.

The tripod is equipped with a 3D ball head and graduated scale, which allows the camera to be easily moved to any position. In addition, the ball head has a small spirit level for optimal alignment when setting up.

The tripod can be assembled and disassembled very quickly with one hand thanks to the quick-release fasteners on the tripod legs. You can also make many settings for the perfect stand on any surface on the tripod. There is also 1 gravity hook on the tripod itself, which can be used to increase the stability of the tripod by attaching heavy objects.

The base plate for attachment to the camera can be attached normally using a rotary thread. This is then also attached to the tripod itself with a fastening screw on the ball head, whereby the camera is then firmly and securely connected to the tripod.

The feet of the tripod have a plastic cover, which can be removed if necessary, underneath there is a metal spike, which allows the tripod to be firmly anchored to the ground. The feet can also be unscrewed from the tripod if required.

Conclusion: Top tripod suitable for both professional and hobby photographers

I think that this product is a very high-quality and well-made tripod, which has been very well thought out by the manufacturer and is therefore perfect for both professional and amateur photographers. Thanks to its compact design and quick and easy assembly, you can take it with you anywhere. All important setting options can be made easily and without any problems.

I am thrilled and can recommend the purchase without reservation. The price is reasonable.

I bought the carbon tripod because I finally wanted a ball head :-). The tripod is incredibly light and remains very stable. The screw caps can be easily opened and then securely fastened again. The camera sits perfectly on the ball joint and is then super adjustable. The fixing screws are easy to move and yet very easy to fix.

When the camera is attached to the ball head mount with the plate, the spirit level is on the side of the screen, where it suits me. BUT the wheel to fix the plate is then on the side of the lens. With my Sigma, however, the rotary knob is almost on the lens. There are only tenths to hundredths between the rotary knob and the lens.

Otherwise the tripod is a recommendation:

- flexibility
- rapid deployment

Decent tripod for <$100, seems well-made and maybe worth a bit more since it's lightweight and easily packed while walking. But I would never trust my expensive cameras on it in any wind >10 knots unless attaching a bag of rocks to the hook. The legs don't spread quite as wide as better more expensive ones, but with weight attached in wind, I'd be fully confident with it. I also easily replaced the attached ball-head with my old Manfrotto ball-head with a snap-in plate and it fits perfectly (the new ball head has a wonky slide-in plate which I can see slipping/dropping the camera while trying to slide it in place). If using a cheaper 'dropper' camera, I'd have no issues at all with any of the above.

I always have to worry that the clamps will fall off. 2.: When the camera is attached to the plate on the ball head mount, the spirit level is on the side of the display, which I think is ok. BUT the knob for attaching the plate is then on the side of the lens. With my Sigma, however, the rotary knob is almost on the lens. There are only 10ths to 100ths between the rotary knob and the lens. do a lot of landscape photography, and while shutter speeds often allow for hand-held use, there is a distinct, visible benefit to mounting the camera on a tripod. Not only does it reduce vibration, but it also allows different exposure times to be used without the risk of camera shake, for example from running water. I have several tripods, some sturdier (and therefore heavier) than others, and I usually keep a medium-duty tripod in my car. I would describe this K&F Concept tripod as medium-heavy at 1.8 kg, but it is more stable than I expected for this weight. The tripod is made from carbon fiber which gives it strength without being too heavy and it looks great! The tripod comes with a metal ball head that can support cameras weighing up to 16kg. Initially I thought the tripod would be more suitable for videography, but when using it for photography with my Nikon Z-series and a large telephoto lens I find it works quite well for both. It is up to 68 inches tall and can be used as both a tripod and a monopod. Not all photographers like ball heads (they have their pros and cons) and I replaced the ball head with a tri-axis head for a while, but I kind of like the ball head on this tripod. I've been using the tripod for a couple of weeks and I like it. It doesn't weigh much making it easy to carry in a shoulder bag and so far has proven to be a solid mount. I also like the look of the tripod. It's not a cheap tripod, and there are competing models on the market, but the combination of carbon fiber and easy portability makes it a tripod you can use every day.

like the fact that this tripod is lightweight and the carbon fiber makes it a sturdy travel tripod. I had some trouble with one of the legs not being properly extended. However, I think it just stuck temporarily because it was new. Legs straighten and lower now flawlessly. I haven't played with it enough to get comfortable with all the features, but the couple of times I've used it while traveling it works perfectly. I have to practice with the ball head so my camera doesn't wobble back and forth. The clamping device used to secure the camera is a screw type grip and I'm not very happy with the security that provides. I wish it had a better trigger, more like a quick release button that allows the camera to be held and released more securely, on the footplate that goes from the camera to the ball head mount. Otherwise, I find this a very useful and sufficient tripod to take the suitcase with you when travelling.

The tripod is two pounds lighter than the one I had been using and much shorter when collapsed. I really like that! However, when I tilt the camera head towards the locking nut, there can be interference with the base of the quick release plate. I've discovered that you can pull out the spring loaded handle to reset its location but there are two issues with doing that. 1. Its tedious and with my big hands, hard to get in there, and; 2. I'm right handed and it seems like the handle was placed on the wrong side. I have to work it with my left hand. Turning the camera around to swing the handle to the right puts it ahead of the camera where it's difficult to see, not to mention that the ball slot (used to clear the ball stem and tilt the camera forward) is now at the back of the camera. Pretty much useless there unless you take photos of the sky. I considered swapping out the Manfrotto ball head from my other tripod as it has the tightening handle at the rear, easily accessible but I felt like I would lose the weight advantage. So, I probably wouldn't have bought this if I had know how inconveniently placed all the control/tightening handles were, but again, I do like the weight savings.

WEEKS LATER: After using this tripod for awhile I’m getting used to avoiding the design issues that caused the interference. However as a product designer myself I recognize that “workaround” should not be in a design engineers vocabulary. K&F contacted me and told me they have discussed the design issues with the team. As a result I’ve added a star to the rating.
