This well-built and well-designed mount will accommodate anything from a phone to a (modest) tablet (the cap is 9.7 inches, which unfortunately rules out most iPads). It extends in two ways: the metal rods are spring-loaded and stretch/compress for a good grip. There are also a pair of plastic columns equipped with two button triggers (see picture) that add a few more inches of width if needed. The surface is mostly a nice, smooth, grippy rubberized coating. There are 1/4 inch screw mounts on one side and back, and a cold shoe mount on the other. This holder seems sturdy and stable and I didn't notice any wobble when using it.

There are two buttons on the side of the unit that can be opened wide enough to accommodate an iPad or most other tablets. This holder seems solid and stable and I didn't notice any wobble when using it. It features two 2 1/4-inch threaded holes: one on the back and the other on the side with a cutout for wires. There is a cold shoe on the other side where you can hang lights or other extras.

This is a very versatile phone and tablet holder for a tripod. In its normal configuration, it will accommodate any typical phone for mounting on a tripod for video or photography purposes. However, by pressing a button or two on the side, it extends out wide enough to accommodate up to an 11" tablet if you want to use it instead of or in addition to your phone. Even when extended for a tablet, it is still very sturdy and stable, it doesn't wobble. Resizing is quick and very easy. There are two standard 0.25" mounting screw holes on the bottom and side to make it easier to orient in portrait or landscape mode. It also has a dry shoe mount for accessories like lights or microphones. This is a very sturdy little holder. You'll feel the tightness of the springs and sliders as well as the general construction. The touch of orange on black also adds to the aesthetic. Definitely a good buy.

This is a pretty cool phone/tablet mount. It's a spring for the tension part of holding your device, but there are also buttons that allow you to extend the mount further. Between the extension and the springy part, the phone can be held from the short side, or it can be stretched out to hold a larger tablet from the short side. Could probably accommodate a smaller tablet from the long side. My only issue with the tripod mounts for phone/tablets (including this one) is that they don't accommodate thicker cases. I have this problem a lot and usually have to take my case off. I can hold it a little, but it seems to put more strain on the mount than I think is good. I haven't used it yet, but I love that it has a cold shoe mount for things like lights or microphones. It's a good product at a fair price. I would order it again, -M-

really wanted to like this tripod/mount holder! It has one of the cleverest ways of extending its size that I've ever seen. As a hobbyist, I was pretty impressed. But other details dampened my enthusiasm pretty quickly. The trick is that it's initially sized for a phone, but if you press the buttons on either side and pull the arms out slightly, they extend a little over an inch on each side, making it just big enough for a tablet if you clip it together on the short sides. The springs are very strong, which is great. I was hoping to get some use out of this beyond the regular phone/tablet because I often use them to store music devices, small synths, pedals, controllers, etc. But even though the spring would hold it, I'm afraid the lip or edge where a device is gripped is positioned in a way that doesn't even fit how I'd expect. I recently put a case on my phone that has one of those ringers inside that act as a kickstand or help you hold the phone. And it sticks out far enough on the back that it prevents that mount from getting around the edges of my phone. Too bad because I otherwise really like it. Maybe I can find a way to put something over the edges that will still be secured. Maybe they'll update the version to have a wider gripping surface. If so, I hope I notice.

Update: great device. To get it to work with my phone I had to enable
OTG. On my phone one opens settings, then additional settings, and OTG is low on the screen

First look here. I downloaded the required app on my phone and tablet. Works on my Lenovo tablet. Does not work at all on my N30 Nord with Android 13. Device will not connect to the phone. This limits the utility, but not completely.
