If you are looking to take outdoor photos this is a must. The gold is my favorite for adding a warm glow to close up portraits.

They do their job very well, for outdoor shots with lots of light I use the ND 32 and, believe me, the images are spectacular.

This filter is not the one I used to carry around in my bag on a regular basis, as I assumed it mostly worked as a mix between an ND filter and a soft filter. But, seeing the possibility of using it for a few days, I realized that I was wrong! The 1/4 black diffusion filter (there is also a stronger 1/2 filter) is primarily used for its softening effect on faces, where it can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and blemishes. In this role it works, but maybe a little too much for some shots. I shoot outdoor landscapes and architectural photos more than portraits, where the filter reduces glare and reflections. It is also useful for defocusing backgrounds more than the camera itself handles. The effects, at first glance, are subtle, but they are visible in a side-by-side comparison. Most of the time, there is a “glow” effect on the snaps which is very appealing. The quality of the filter is high, and I now use it almost by default on my primary 85mm and 105mm lenses. Nice filter.

Well made filter. I have the 72mm 1/4 filter. Ideal for portraits... softens the edge and gives a slight glow in the highlights. That's subjective, but I wouldn't increase the filter power any further, and in fact you might want to consider the 1/8 power filter. Too strong a filter like this will result in your photos being taken at an 80's glamor shot booth at the mall...

This is my first ND filter so I can't tell you if this is a quality product or not on par with other brands. This ND filter did the job for outdoor shots, my shots turned out amazing with the right camera setup and time to film. I never had several friends asking me if I was happy with the result because they were amazed by it.

Just the right amount of resistance in turning. Good for outdoor video work!!
