This ring allows the prestigious Zeiss manual focus lenses with Contax/Yashica mount to be fitted to a Sony Alpha (E-mont) camera body. The connection on my Sony A7III and A7R4 is perfect with no play. The same applies to attachment with C/Y bayonet lenses. The ring is made entirely of metal, heavy but superbly finished. No reflection in the ring. I am really very satisfied and for this reason I rate the article with 5 stars.

Now that I've used it once for my work, I can comment on it in my opinion. I use it for photos of interiors, cider houses, restaurants... also for close-ups of people where I need it to appear quite deep (a chef with a plate for example). The first couple of times I used it with a tripod so manual focus isn't a problem, use the Liveview to focus (everything looks so sharp no matter what parameters you use, it's hard to tell the specific focus point), i close the aperture at 7.1 or 11 and that's it, everything in the picture is perfect. For handheld photos it's easy to get the point by using an approximate hyperfocal and just closing in at f/5.6, a few extra shots just in case and no problem. It's not as comfortable as my 17-40L, with its ultrasonic focus of course, but at this price point let's see what other ultra angle you have...none. The brutal sharpness really surprised me. Very good picture quality for what it costs, impressive. The colors are very good, like any other good lens. Chromatic aberrations... What is it? I haven't seen any of them yet. The geometric distortion is very moderate for the angle as long as you take the photo from the right angle. For my work, many cider houses, not being able to put a good UV filter in front of it bugs me (there can always be accidents with people and drinks), but hey, extreme caution is required. It's slightly lighter than the 17-40 mentioned above, has a relatively small size and is very portable. The focus ring is very good, too long for close objects, and it rotates well and tightly, it doesn't move by itself. The aperture ring is the same. Since I'm used to using old manual lenses (with my analog cameras), it's not that awkward to use either. It doesn't have the plastic feel that other lenses give, it's well built without being a black leg, but it doesn't feel like you've just bought a toy. Due to the case's shape, which serves its function well and is easy to put on and take off, the built-in sunshade will soon be covered in scratches, but hey, that's nothing. Of course, I hesitated for a long time before deciding to buy it (it was the historically low price that made me do it), but I don't regret it in the least. For its characteristics, not for constant use or to "tie it to the camera without removing it" but for whatever use I give it and at this price... I can hardly ask for more. bought this K&F Concept 14mm 2.8 to discover a genre of photography that I hadn't experienced until this moment, as the wide-angle focal I had was the 24mm of the Canon zoom that I use on my 6D. I had this goal for a long time because, to read on various forums, it is considered a very good product that, at a very attractive price (about 350€), gives performance really well. This K&F Concept lens is a bit special because, unlike most lenses, it's totally manual, it doesn't have a chance to be controlled by the camera (this is for the Canon model, the Nikon model has the electrical contacts that the Allow the camera to use the TV recording mode, view the focus through the viewfinder (when the green dot indicates manual focus) and record Exif data.With Canon, as mentioned above, the operation is completely manual, it can only be done in the M recording mode can be used, the aperture can only be varied via the mechanical jerky ring in 1/2 stop increments from F/2.8 to F/22 and there is no way to compare the Exif data with the aperture values on the file I decided to buy it anyway, because everyone praised its optical properties, which were awarded even at TA After the first tests, I can only confirm these opinions, the sharpness of this target is really exceptional even at F/2.8, it is pretty much a blade...! Unfortunately it's not all gold that shimmers...!! This K&F Concept has some flaws that can be important or nonsense depending on the use you intend to make it...!! One of the flaws I've found (like so many others who use it) is the distortion it creates, which is very specific..., I saw barrel, pillow distortions... but I was missing those. ..!! It's what many call a “mustache” distortion, it's non-linear, it forms a sort of wave that's not very easy to correct even in post-production with the various lens corrections of image processing software. If you use it for panoramic photos you won't notice this flaw, but if you take photos of architecture it can be annoying a lot. Another flaw is that since the aperture of the manual membrane, if you shoot with fairly closed membranes, with not excessive light, you will have a dark image in the viewfinder, since the lens does not have the ability to adjust the aperture at the desired opening only to Closing time of recording...! Then we talk about the focus..., the lens is only manual and that is known, but precisely for this reason it is unthinkable that the focus ring is completely staring..., for the infinity focus I have to refer to the value on the Adjust notch of 0.7 mt...!! A manual focus lens is used the vast majority of the time in IPERFOCAL, it's not easy to do this when the readings on the dial don't match the real ones...!! Of course..., in this case it's an ultra wide angle, it's certainly not impossible to do that, especially if you're using fairly closed diaphragms, but I don't understand how K&F Concept are selling these lenses with this apparent flaw can (it's a problem that afflicts almost all specimens on the market)...!! Another thing... if you use polarizing filters or other filters, keep in mind that this lens has the petal type lens hood, which is fixed and cannot be disassembled, you cannot use normal threaded filters, but you need a special filter holder buy for plate filters, which are quite expensive. Personally, although I was impressed by the quality of the images that this K&F Concept can emigrate, I decided to make the return since the errors present do not allow me to find ourselves feeling good, I'm really sorry but I believe that a good lens is not only made by good optical quality, but must be able to be one with the photographer and with that, at least with me, it didn't happen...!

Does the job OK. It allows you to use your Minolta gear. Of course it is manual focus. The quality build of the adapter is good.

Compared to the original Sony this adapter allows the adaptation of Sony A and Minolta AF lenses only of the bayonet: the transmission of the diaphragm and the data communication body / lens does not exist; as a result, the adapted lenses function as manual aperture preselection lenses. About the diaphragm, this can be operated by acting on the ring on the adapter which has no indications but makes some clicks by counting which you can roughly define the effective value starting from the maximum aperture of the lens (for example if a lens opens to 2.8 by making the ring make 1 click we will close at 4, 2 clicks at 5.6 and so on).
The camera must be set for shooting without lens and in practice it will work in manual or aperture priority, also the focus will be manual but focus peaking assistance is possible.
Ultimately it is a cheap product, well made, economic alternative to the Sony originals; not suitable for action or sports photography, great for everything else. I cannot give information on compatibility with full frame sensors because I use APS C.

Hello, Having fallen in love with the ND1000 effect on landscape photos, I decided to buy one. reminder: take a photo with an aperture priority (AV mode) and a certain diaphragm opening and recover the opening time (on my photo: 1/4 of a second = 250ms). Put the lens in manual focus and place the ND1000 filter avoiding changing the focus. Multiply the previous opening time by 1000. In my example 0.250s x1000 = 250s (4min10) Put the reflex in manual exposure mode then in BULB mode in order to remote control the opening time. (in my case, I use my smartphone which has an infrared port). We note after 4m10s that the photo (with filter) is identical in color and luminosity to that taken in 1/4 of a second without filter. This filter is therefore well calibrated. Important: the use of a tripod is strongly recommended to avoid any blurring of movement. In conclusion, I recommend this product and I can't wait to be able to take pictures of landscapes with this filter. Have a good day.
