The past few years I have had the fortunate opportunity to be able to try out many different types of camera equipment. I find that there are three big categories: heavy-duty, standard use, and travel. This tripod from K&F Concept is definitely designed to be in that third group. I have a couple of travel tripods that do a fantastic job of holding my full-frame Canon 5D Mark IV with a 70-200mm lens attached. I said that to mention that sometimes the smaller, lighter-weight tripods get the job done so you don’t have to haul around the heavier standard size mounts. K&F Concept did a nice job with the design of this tripod. It’s very lightweight at only 3.17 pounds, which is comparable to my travel-sized Manfrotto tripod.

This tripod has an impressive total height to it of 78 inches, which should be enough for any photograph you need to capture. I am shooting a wedding in a couple of weeks and I have the idea of shooting above the audience from the back of the venue. At 78 inches, this tripod provides the necessary height to be able to achieve that ‘over-head’ shot I’m looking for. The ball head moves easily enough, but the numbers on the bottom dial are faded and printed in a very light color. It’s hard to read -- even in studio lighting. I personally think that those numbers should be printed in a brighter, more vibrant color -- maybe even neon.

The legs extend easily, but the quick-release flip-locks have very sharp edges. I went to unlock one of the legs and the edge of the lock clipped my finger and I started bleeding. I was surprised to find such a sharp edge on a finished product like this. Another issue I found was with the center column. It seemed as though no matter how much I tightened it, I could still push the column down. I was only pushing down with as much force as a camera load would provide.

I really like that the feet had spikes on them. This provides a lot of added traction especially out in nature. It’s not something you see on every tripod and it was a welcome surprise with this design.

All in all, the K&F Concept 78-inch Camera Tripod is a decent, sturdy tripod for beginners. I think that professional-level photographers might find the same flaws with it that I did. I do think that any level of photographer can get use out of this -- especially in places where it might get destroyed. In other words, it’s a good backup tripod.

The K&F Concept Travel Tripod is a nice and small package. Seems to be well made and the controls all worked as expected. I liked the flip up phone holder that is built into the shoe and folds up when not in use so the ¼ inch phone is available.

had the opportunity to test a travel tripod from K&F Concept. What particularly interested me was the weight, the quick-release fasteners on the legs, a working height that was comfortable for me, the handling of the ball head (I'm not a fan of it) and the price. When the tripod arrived I was immediately surprised... it comes in an easy-to-carry bag and the ball head is protected with a small pouch. An imbus and (admittedly) somewhat sparse instructions are also included. But … do you urgently need instructions for the tripod? The handling of the clamp closures is good and I quickly get the hang of it. So the tripod can be set up and taken down quickly. The removable plate is screwed under the camera as usual and is then NOT fastened with a quick release, but is screwed. But that works fine. The height is 1.33m and the center column allows it to be extended up to 1.56m. That's a tolerable working height for both me and Markus... and yeah, it's stable, even with the 5D on top. The ball head also held the weight of the 5D well ... can be easily adjusted so that I am even enthusiastic as a ball head anti. I did find a small flaw though. There's a bubble level on the tripod, but it's covered when the camera is mounted...that's a bit of a shame when you have to move the tripod. But you can get over it. The price is quite low at €70 ... but the quality of the tripod really surprised me. My conclusion: I have found a good and cheap seller ... I will definitely buy from K&F Concept again if I need something.

A compact, lightweight tripod will inevitably have some trade offs, regardless of how well it is made, and that applies to this product as well. With lightweight tripods, the lack of weight means potentially less stability when shooting in the field. That can be overcome if needed by adding either an aftermarket center-mounted counterweight, or investing in a sand/rock bag to suspend beneath the tripod in a sort of hammock. But for the most part, lightweight compact tripods like this have their place and do quite well for most assignments.
Overall, I have been very impressed with this K&F CONCEPT B174A1 Travel Tripod, and can recommend it to anyone needing a quality- built portable tripod that can perform double-duty for use of smartphones or conventional camera use.

Years ago, without knowing what I was looking for, I bought the Albott 70 inch tripod. It was a good entry-level tripod that's fairly traditional with its pan/tilt head and quick release. As I started setting up my video and photo gear (I'm still a total beginner) I realized I needed a more compact and stable tripod.

This K&F Concept TM2515M1 tripod is certainly not a pro tripod, but it is a good travel tripod. With a ball joint and screw cap plate, I found it to be more versatile than the Albot tripod. It also looks a lot better with the orange highlights.

I've attached a couple of pictures comparing the two tripods. As you can see, with the K&F Concept tripod I don't compromise on the characteristics of the other tripod while getting a more compact and stable frame. The build quality of the K&F is great. All parts are metal and the tripod legs are tightly bolted, giving it a very secure feel.

From the pictures, you can see the head is smaller compared to the traditional tripod and easier to store without the long handle getting in the way. The maximum height is comparable to my old tripod, but the K&F is much smaller when packed. The carrying case is also more robust. It's heavy nylon and the zipper is a nice size. What I lose compared to the traditional tripod is the height of the monopod, but I'm not a tall guy so I would never use the mono fully extended anyway.

The K&F Concept has the inversion function that is usual for tripods of this type. It makes it possible to record videos and images from a much lower angle without compromising camera safety. I can imagine a ground level time lapse on the bank of a river looking at boats on the river.

Form really follows function here. The orange accents accentuate all the connection points and the wraparound design gives this tripod an overall sleek look.

I am very happy with my purchase and the price under 100 euros was exactly what I was looking for.

I am very satisfied with the K&F Concept 174cm carbon tripod. It is convincing in all respects. Even the travel bag is of very high quality and made of robust material. The fabric can even be wiped with a damp cloth to remove dirt. The tripod itself is ultra-compact and super-light. The tripod feet can be completely folded down so that it shrinks to a minimum overall length for storage and transport.

This K&F Concept Travel Tripod is a good strudy one.

ordered this K&F Concept X-Series 68 inch/172cm Carbon Fiber Camera Tripod to replace an aging travel tripod.I always take a tripod when I travel. Despite that, I rarely use one. It's just not convenient (or comfortable) to carry a tripod around all day in addition to a load of camera gear. And, most "travel tripods" are just not stable enough for my Fuji GFX100s with a GF lens attached.K&F Concept addresses the weight vs. stability issue by using carbon fiber. It's strong and dimensionally stable but still light. Even with the ball head attached, this tripod comes in at under 3.5 pounds. When folded, it's just 19.5 inches long, so it will fit into most carry-on bags or strapped to the side or bottom of a backpack.The BH-30 ball head operates smoothly and tightens down to prevent any camera movement. The legs extend by unscrewing a knob. This is not my favorite adjustment method, as I've run into situations in the past where sand and dirt begin to affect the smooth operation of the knobs. That said, the legs adjust smoothly and lock down tight.This is certainly not the lightest tripod available, but for the price it offers a good value.
