Nowadays, the biggest advantage of a UV haze filter is to protect the front element of the camera lens. There's also haze correction, but the need for film for blue reduction isn't the case with digital cameras. The bigger reason is that today's post-processing software can filter as much haze as the photographer desires, which no UV filter can do. The need for protection is real. Even if it means keeping the front elements of your lenses from getting dirty or splattered, these filters play a role. I was wearing this filter when I made a misstep and splashed into a small river that soaked the camera. I felt a lot better about my clumsiness knowing I wouldn't have to face the delicate chores of lens cleaning when I got home. However, a filter in the light path must be of high quality, otherwise the image will be degraded. I'm far from having a lab to test glass here. The best test I could think of was easy. I would take an identical picture with and without the filter and then compare to see if I have any issues. Yes, it's raw, but it's what I have. Please see the included image. To create this, I set the camera on a tripod, set the exposure manually as a best estimate, and then took two pictures — one with and one without this filter. I took the RAW images, randomly cropped a portion of one and pasted onto the other. Both are labeled. I then compared the two and focused on the area where they merged. I drew a black line at the approximate location of the join. I didn't do any post-processing. These are the RAW (DNG) images straight from the camera, converted to JPEG just for posting here. I did my best pixel peek on both images and didn't notice any distortion from this filter. In other words, it does exactly what I want it to and has now earned a spot on my lens.

Very nice standard filter set consisting of a UV filter (clear) and a CPL filter. The two filters come assembled and have a threaded metal lens cap on each end.

These are ultra-thin filters that are less likely to cause problems like vignetting at the edges. Very well made, with machined aluminum construction on both the filters and the lens caps.

The CPL filter is a bit darker than what I'm used to, so it's better for outdoor daylight shooting than indoor.

The UV filter is the best I've ever used, crystal clear with no bluing or other artifacts - perfect, 100% clear. I always keep the UV lens on my camera lens for protection since it is so clear. Works well with stacking additional filters.

The threads all work flawlessly and the CPL makes for smooth rotation adjustment.

I have used a few K&F filters on my camera lenses and have never been disappointed with their quality or price. The UV filter is made of high-quality optical glass and leaves no color cast or other imperfections on my images. Put simply, what you shoot is what you get, just beautiful, clean images. This type of filter also serves a secondary purpose as a protective filter for your expensive lens. After all, it's cheaper to replace a filter than a lens, isn't it? An excellent UV filter that fits perfectly on my Sony 24-105mm camera lens.

UV filters don't do much from an optical standpoint, but I sometimes use one to add a layer of protection to my camera lens. If I'm in a windy or dusty environment, I put on a UV filter. I also like to use one when it's raining to keep water droplets off my lens. It is much easier to remove and clean an inexpensive filter than to clean an expensive camera lens. I try to wear UV filters with appropriate diameters for the lenses I use. As far as I can tell, the mechanical and optical quality is good. The filter screws smoothly onto my Nikon lens. With modern DSLR cameras, there is a lot of debate as to whether UV filters are of any use. I'm in the camp that says there are definite benefits. First, there are arguments that the UV filter can protect the sensor in your camera from long-term UV degradation. Second, a good quality filter provides a layer of protection for the front of your camera lens. I was shooting in a very windy location and a door caught the wind and banged the front of my lens before I could get a hold of it. I was lucky that the hit wasn't worse, but the lens got a small chip on the front plastic. This filter is metal, screws directly on, and will protect the front of the lens from such damage in the future. The lens could still be damaged in other ways, but it's a layer of protection from those unexpected bumps. In the future, if the lens gets bumped and the filter destroyed, I'll be grateful that the filter took the hit instead of the lens. The filter is much cheaper to replace!

I originally bought this UV filter for my Air 2S drone to protect the camera lens from dust and dirt caused by flying the drone. The drone itself comes with just a rim frame with no lens for the camera. Right off the bat, this item feels well made. In that sense, I'm new to camera drones and filters. Just buckle up and do what it says. I live by a lake and fly over it all the time. This is from the other night with a longer exposure. Works as advertised.
