Works great for macro photography as it is very versatile in the various positions you can mount your camera. You can get your camera extremely low to the ground but without having to splay out the tripod legs over a large surface area. If you have to get into a small nook to get that shot, this tripod does a great job. I would not consider it to be light tripod or quick to set up. It's probably not going to be the tripod I carry around for travel but it folds up into a very small (and nice) bag if you intend to travel with it.

use it mainly for Macro photography, but it's a very good tripod all over. I particularly like the transverse column and the fact that you can lower the camera to the ground level, neither of these options being available in too many other tripods. The price is also reasonable considering the great functionality. Very happy with this purchase even though it took a few weeks to arrive.

No cheap plastics or faux metal here. I bought this specifically for the transverse beam feature to hold my rather weighty D7000 and 105mm Micro Nikkor while doing macro photography. The only minor frustration was finding the transverse column (it wasn't detailed in the instructions) but I realized after watching an online video that it was neatly hidden away in the centre column. Everything about this tripod, even the handsome, padded carrying case exudes an air of quality (just remember to collapse the legs upward to make it fit in the bag!). This is my second K&F product -- my first was a flash -- and I can't say enough about their product quality and attention to detail. Some legacy brand names the photography world could certainly learn from this innovative company!
