I had the opportunity to test a travel tripod from K&F Concept. What interested me the most was the weight, the quick-release fasteners on the legs, a comfortable working height for me, the handling of the ball head (I'm not a fan of it) and the price When the tripod arrived I was immediately surprised... it comes in an easy-to-carry bag and the ball head is protected with a small pouch. An imbus and (admittedly) somewhat sparse instructions are also included. But ... do you urgently need instructions for the tripod? The handling of the clamp locks is good and I quickly get the hang of it. So the tripod can be set up and taken down quickly. The removable plate is screwed under the camera as usual and is then NOT fastened with a quick release, but is screwed. But that works fine. The height is 1.33m and the center column allows it to be extended up to 1.56m. That's a comfortable working height for both me and Markus... and yeah, it's stable, even with the 5D on top. The ball head also held the weight of the 5D well ... can be adjusted so that I am even enthusiastic as a ball head anti. I did find a small flaw. There is a spirit level on the tripod, but it's covered when the camera is mounted...that's a bit of a shame when you have to move the tripod. But I can get over it. The price is quite low at €70... but the quality of the tripod really surprised me. My conclusion: I've found a good and cheap seller... The tripod itself does what it should. It's stable, it's straight, the quick release plate holds up well and is Arca Swiss compatible, the ball head holds the camera in place and everything feels quite valuable.

follow the level on the tripod to keep it straight because it's has a ball head on the tripod you have to keep it straight while using the different angles above all this a pretty good tripod .

This is a step up from the many cheaper quick release plates on Amazon. It is beautifully constructed with moulded safety catches to prevent the plate from sliding off an arca swiss style quick release clamp.

I have it permanently fixed to a heavy 300mm zoom lens and bought it for use with a K&F ball head but have found that it fits all of my other arca swiss clamps too. The only one it doesn’t accommodate is a Sirui clamp which has no recessed grooves for safety catches. I would avoid buying the Sirui clamp altogether and kit yourself out with this style of plate and clamp combination because it is much more versatile, is cheaper, and in this case, just as well constructed.

A fantastic product.

First, I am usually impressed with K&F products, professional quality photo products at a low price point. I find many good features in the K&F 68" Carbon Fiber tripod, but I have some reservations. The tripod comes in a sturdy zippered case with a detachable shoulder strap. (see photo) There are clear instructions and three Allen wrenches to tighten areas like the Arca plate and leg hinges. Generally, these are for maintenance only, most of time you don't need the wrenches or any tools.

The tripod is of a style that requires the legs to be tucked-over for storage. This protects the ball-head and makes it shorter but it is an extra step to deployment. The leg locks are twist locks, they have a large easy-to-use rubberized knobs and only take a half turn. These twist leg locks work well. I prefer lock levers on the legs because they are quicker to deploy, and for my style of photography that is important.

The K&F weighs under three and half pounds. (see photo) A very good weight compared to most competitor's tripods. Though when the legs are fully deployed they have a slight wobble. (see video) Fine in most cases but could be a problem shooting long exposures in the wind. The wobble goes away when the legs are shorter.

Changing leg angles, making into a monopod, and swapping central column to hang the camera upside down are easy thanks to smart modern design.

The excellent ball head and Arca-Swiss compatibility is fantastic. (Fully compatible with my Peak Design Arca Plate) Large knobs and well machined parts make the BH-30 head a breeze to adjust. I found the head and tripod worked well with my Sony A7r and a long lens.

In this price bracket this is a very good tripod. I am taking off a star for the slight wobble in the legs when fully deployed

The tripod meets all the requirements I have. Since the ball head is included, it really can be moved anywhere and is very inexpensive for this quality. The tripod can also be easily opened thanks to the swivel system, which I already know from my hiking poles.
