Camera shoots up to an incredible 40 MP. I was surprised to find it comes with EVERYTHING needed to use - including a 64GB SD card and alkaline batteries. It has a color screen inside the unit that can be used to customize the setup and view photos/videos right on the device. The case is sturdy, has a good quality gasket, and closes securely. It can be mounted with the included tree strap, or a little bracket with wood screw threads on one end; the other end screws into the base of the camera. It does NOT support wireless data transmission. You either pull the SD card and use that, or connect via an included USB cable.

This is better than I expected. Given the task of sorting through 10,000 old pennies, this digital microscope was a lifesaver. It worked perfectly and the value of only 3 coins I found was more than paid for. I could set the height (image size) and focus, then put every penny on the base. I could make a coin about every 2 seconds. The image is clear and sharp, and the height adjustment allows for a full view of the coin. When I first plugged it in, Windows 10 found it and completed setup automatically. But when I opened the camera app, I only got the rear-facing image from the laptop's built-in camera. I had to switch the camera to the front-facing image and then switch back, to get the image of the microscope. I can unreservedly recommend this digital scope.

Actual magnification will differ due to screen size, distance between camera and observations. A lot to digest, though. It will be a great microscope for any young scientist, teacher or wonderer.

Great versatile device for kids

I like looking at nature with the children. I bought this digital microscope to bring you closer to the microcosm. It is a magnifying camera with a screen. I think it's good that you can save pictures of the recordings on a memory card, that's what I would have wished for in biology class back then. LEDs are installed at the bottom so that the camera can deliver better recordings. The magnification effect does not come close to the old-fashioned school microscopes from my childhood. This gadget is therefore more of a toy and not necessarily intended for research. In any case, we have a lot of fun with the part and therefore give it 5 stars. A real microscope also costs a multiple.
