Clear-Night Filter has always been a challenge for photographers who like to photograph cities at night. This unpleasant haze makes capturing stars and celestial objects a lot more challenging. The new K&F Concept Light Pollution Filter is available for DSLRs with lens and helps to reduce the effects of light pollution. The special coating on the filter helps stop the yellow and orange wavelengths of light from entering the lens resulting in clearer photographs of the night sky. For architectural shots or long exposures in the urban environment, even delicate structures and contrasts are maintained in the subject and no longer overexposed. By means of extensive filtering of the warmer wavelengths of light, photographs are effectively ‘cooled down’ retaining the same detail and contrasts that you see with your eyes. As a result of this cooling effect, we recommend that photographers always use manual white balance and select a color temperature between 700K and 1500K of the reading that was taken without the filter inserted, to ensure the color authenticity of your pictures.

It is very well made, great optics and really helps clean the nights sky.

Highly recommended.
Exellent filter for the purpose of night sky, wide field Astrophotography. Very adept at cancelling light pollution and has a high quality feel. I can not comment on the coatings, but I had no problems with light refraction or ghosting, and the filter cleans easily. I would say an upgrade from filters like the ICE filters, and the added expense to go to those brands does not justify the cost increase.

Perfect for astrophotography
This filter is doing its job perfectly. It catchs night light pollution so I could take clear night sky. I've tried it at Josua tree national park to capture Neowise comet, and it worked perfectly.

WOW…
I thought I was getting some nice night shots before I tried a natural night filter!
This was shot from a cruise ship at sea, so I’ve got a glow of light around me, from the decks just above, that I’m shooting through/past to the moon, the result is I usually get a “lit up” sky that has an unnatural feel, and the moon may seem more natural in a white or cream, but it feels wrong or out of place against its background.
The natural night filter brought the two together so the moon and its background/the sky both feel more natural.
In an ideal world I’d find a darker location on deck, but, for now, I’m delighted with the results.

Amazing filter
Made my night photography a lot cleaner.
Took some long exposures with and without and noticed there was a lot less light pollution and noise with this filter on

Great filter!!!
I love using this filter at night! I live in the Tampa, Fl area so I have a huge amount of light interference at night. The first time a used it there was a huge difference. Glad I bought it!

Quality was great
Shooting in the city always undermines the results because of light pollution. But even in Bolter meter 4 light bollution I was able to use this filter get the desired effects I wanted in my photos. As a novice astrophotography I recommend.

Spectral chart?
Filter appears to be broadband and helps reduce glare with minimal effect on colors. Would be helpful if a spectral chart was posted to be certain of what is being ordered.

Good value for what appears to be a very high quality light pollution filter
Construction is very good with rubberized edge ridges for easy installation and removal, especially important for a filter that will only be used for night sky photography. Light transmission is good with no apparent chromatic aberration from edge to edge. The filter doesn't easily attract dust and cleans well with a quality microfiber cloth. While I've only taken a few night test shots, the filter appears to be very effective, especially for sodium vapor light pollution. One more item of note - the filter case is the best I've ever received with a filter of any price!

No it does not, it keeps the city lights or the light the eminates from populated areas from getting in. So you get a clearer picture of stars, I used it a few times and it works but if you live in a heavy light polluted area it may not make much difference.

If you can fit a 67 mm UV filter on the end of lens this should work without touching the glass. You could get the 82mm version and use a stop down adapter.
